HD Radio updates

KKBQ dropped -FM from their HD call sign. They did not add any program types though. Now all that’s left for CMG is for KHPT to drop -FM and for KTHT HD to come back.
 
More distant HD reception (tropo)

Is there any standard list of format definitions? (classic hits etc.)

KHPT finally dropped -FM from their HD call sign. They didn’t add any program types which is weird considering KGLK added them. KTHT HD still remains off

The only standard of any kind is the list Nielsen accepts. That list is not used in the research, but is part of the data release to agencies.

Otherwise, a station can call itself whatever it wants.

Format names are basically for sales. No CHR station uses that term on the air, for example.
 
KTHT HD is back on. KHPT and KKBQ added program types yesterday
 
I don’t know what’s going on with KTHT but the HD is off again
 
KTHT's had no HD for some time now... the audio quality has been pretty bad as of late too. Maybe an STL issue?

HD was on for like a day or 2 and it’s back again. I did notice when it was off the RDS was on but had nothing on it. Just like KFNC

I was talking about RDS. KTHT was like KFNC where they had no proper PI code and just the scrolling text of a space bar or something blank.
 
Noticed that last night was picking up KVBH analog then KGLK HD came in.
 
Masala Radio has moved from KGLK HD4 to HD3 leaving HD4 inactive.
 
Picked that up last night. Got country legends pretty decent half the day but not the HD signal.
 
KTHT HD is off yet again. Also they have no RDS whatsoever. I wonder what’s going on over there. KXBJ is blasting in like usual when KTHT has their HD off.
 
KTHT's HD was coming in just fine this morning on my way to the office. No PAD data other than "Country Legends 97.1", though...
