New Sports Station Coming To DFW

There’s just absolutely no way a radio station would call themselves the freak. I would laugh every time I would tell a potential client the name of the station

Slayer on KXT?!??!!!

Wow. I'm impressed. I never understood why FM rock radio has avoided their music outside of heavy metal specialty shows. Many of those same stations play Pantera on a semi-regular basis.
Alt 103.7 just played Metallica “Enter Sandman”

On air schedule is up. Looks like this is more in the vein of WTKS than just "another sports station" after all, insofar that it actually employs one of WTKS's shows, "The News Junkies"

They did indeed flip the station to "The Freak". The press release only announced the daytime lineup that starts at 7 AM to 7 PM. Now we see what they plan to do in the non-Mavericks airtime.

97.1 The Freak began with a humorous look at the history of KEGL.

Mike Rhyner is hosting The Downbeat, which now airs on weekdays at 3:00 pm.

Personally, I’m pumped to see hot talk get another shot. Too early to tell if it will launch (or come back) in other markets, but likely the direction we’ll see as music listening shifts to other outlets. (There is an audience that wants talk radio in a non-political manner...whether it can be lucrative on a large scale remains to be seen.)

“Here’s what the freak is going on” “XX people dead as a result of hurricane Ian” Thats a little insensitiv, no? Or is that just the journalist in me getting offended?
