Alt 92.3 to Become WINS Simulcast

According to RadioInsight, Alt 92.3 will have a final 2 hour show tomorrow morning, with its "local hosts." It is expected to begin at 6 AM.
If that's accurate, it would end at 8 AM, an hour before the flip to the WINS simulcast, scheduled at 9 AM.. Perhaps that hour will be used for stunting.
The article also states that Alt 92.3 will be commercial-free, once it moves to WNYL HD2. I wonder why, when New York's Country on 94.7 HD2 does run some ads.

Last full day of ALT 92.3, so what's next? Will we ever get another alternative station in the near future?
I'm sure in a few years when one the stations in the cluster is faltering in the ratings and the bookings are in the toilet, the powers that be will look around to see if they think there's a market for it and if there is, try again. I don't think it will be for a long while at this point and I also think that there may be a realization that the makeup of the listeners in this market just doesn't support a station playing that format.

I wonder what would happen if 1010 WINS gets bad ratings on the 92.3 feed

Another one I remember being used before, American Pie.
I'm sure that we could spend time listing songs that have been used or could be used to end the music format of a station, but remember that the final song has to fit the alternative format of WNYL.

Very interesting programming. I do wonder what the final song will be.

I’m in Ireland for the week and can’t stream Audacy, so I guess I’ll find out here around 1400 (Dublin time).
It looks like the final song will be played closer to 1300 Dublin time since that is when the farewell show will end.

Tomorrow at 9 AM NYC radio 📻 is dead...🪦 allowing AM stations to simulcast on Full FM stations because people are too lazy to push a button?! Embarrassing 😳. When FM dies in a decade and people don't have jobs in terrestrial radio anymore because we couldn't get anyone to buy into HD because of greed or into radio for that matter, I will say I told you so. Why is radio dead? Because you killed off AM for FM and allowed news/talk to move to FM and religious broadcasters and brokered programming to come to FM making it a wasteland. It's like the companies are killing themselves.

The most appropriate final song would be one with no particular meaning that gets cut off halfway through. That would be the perfect way to represent the unceremonious dumping of the format and the lack of care shown by the corporation that ran it into the ground
