If WATL is the CW Affiliate, Tegna's renewal contract will come into playWoah but WPCH has not gotten a Superstation status since WTBS became WPCH in the United States. Also interestingly Bell the TV provider in Canada has Three Nexstar stations in their Best package like KTLA, WPIX and the local feed of WGN. Nexstars flagship stations that have a superstation status in Canada is a carryover when these were Tribune owned those stations. In other words it's not just WPCH that is subjected to CRTC regulations in Canada but also KTLA, WPIX and WGN too given that they are carried in Canada. In KTLA and WPIX Case they are flagship CW affiliates. If these stations are not allowed to air certain CW content in Canada because of broadcast rights reasons what takes their place though. Does this mean KTLA, WPIX, WGN Local News take the CW spots in Canada. Or in WPCH Case the Atlanta News First from WANF takes the CW spots if they are subject to these regulations.

The CW is not leaving KPXJ in ShreveportEither that or Nexstar is probably making attempts to its independent or MNTV affiliates to become The CW. Maybe these stations would be effective too: KOZL/Springfield MO, WCIX/Springfield IL, WCTX/Hartford, KSHV/Shreveport, KXNW/NW Arkansas, KYLE/Central Texas, or even WMYT/Charlotte.

Nexstar Media Group today promoted veteran media executive Tracey Rogers to senior vice president and regional manager for its broadcasting division, overseeing Nexstar television stations and digital operations in multiple markets across the U.S. She will begin her duties on Sept. 5, and be based at the company’s headquarters in Irving, Texas, reporting to Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division.
An experienced industry veteran, Rogers has long track-record of success and expertise in new business development, local news programming, and strategic planning across multiple media platforms. She has been vice president and general manager of Nexstar’s ABC affiliate WKRN Nashville since May 2017. Under her leadership, the station expanded its midday local newscast to a full hour and developed plans to launch a new hour-long local newscast at 3 p.m. on Sept. 11. WKRN also added a one-hour lifestyle program called Local on 2, and launched several highly successful local sponsorship programs including “News 2 Gives Back,” which highlights the work of Nashville’s first responders, and “Take a Titan 2 School,” which gives schoolchildren the opportunity to compete for the chance to take a member of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans to class during the football season.
I‘m surprised they’re hanging onto the peachtree tv name. But, how are they going to skirt around peach tree tv still being available in Canada? so, is the cw in Canada now?CW to WPCH in Atlanta. Kinda sad to me as this was basically the same station that used to air Braves baseball. The CW Network and Gray Television Expand and Extend Affiliation Partnership | Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
WPCH agreement doesn’t start until Saturday, maybe because they are airing a high school football game Friday night. So for one night Atlanta will be without an affiliate, even though they could air the Friday night shows on Saturday.
Thought they might go WATL and get KONG in Seattle with it as a Tegna package deal but Gray does produce the ACC games so it makes sense.
Your move Seattle.

And very likely down the road, WGN in Chicago, in what'll be the worst kept secret. You know it's only a matter of time before Nexstar returns the CW to WGN, probably honoring WCIU's affiliation contract to its conclusion before that happens. The CW is in Canada via WPIX New York and KTLA LA
If this does well for the CW, I wouldn't be shocked if down the road, whenever the affiliation contract with KASW (Phoenix) expires, CW & Gray make a deal to have Indy KTVK, similar to WPCH, a duopoly to CBS in KPHO, as the new CW affiliate.CW to WPCH in Atlanta. Especially when you already have 2 Nexstar CW affiliates available in WPIX (NYC) & KTLA (Los Angeles). One can expect the CRTC will have something to say regarding Nexstar and Gray’s presence in Canada, especially with the OTA and cable networks in the country. At this rate WPCH could be the ripe for picking (as in being removed from Canadian operators).
why not expand KONG's version of KING 5 mornings at 8am insteadI see that KSTW Seattle is dropping the 10PM "Seattle News Now" that CBS produced. Still no announcement about an affiliation change in Seattle, but I'm not surprised about the rumors of KONG taking CW. However, it would force them to cancel the 9PM hour of news unless CW allows them to air primetime from 7-9 to fit the newscasts in.
