CBS owned CW affiliates to drop CW affiliation and go independent

The WADL—Mission deal was doomed because it was them buying the station on behalf of Nexstar and little more. This plunged the deal into regulatory hell as objections were filed against the purchase, plus a fifth FCC commissioner was finally seated, making it all moot.

Scripps is blatantly playing out the string with the CW on KASW and KWBA, two stations that are currently prevented from carrying all Arizona Coyotes games due to the CW’s stringent requirements to air almost all primetime programming in pattern. The CW affiliations with Scripps expire next September 1. So that’s why WMYD is not even in consideration here.

Either Nexstar wisens up and divests some of their smaller, underperforming stations in places like Idaho, Mississippi or Montana to make a clean purchase of WADL… or the CW is forced onto WDIV 4.2. But their Detroit options are very limited.

But where will Children Ruin Everything?

This week, within the Detroit area, viewers using a DTV antenna can receive that show via the network's Toledo affiliate, WTVG-DT2 13.2 on the day it airs, and on Windsor's CTV2 affiliate CHWI 16 & 26, 10 days after they air on The CW.

Also this week within the area, One Magnificent Morning can be seen via The CW's Toledo affiliate/WTVG 13.2 on the day it airs, and on WKBD 50 on the day after it airs on The CW.

Sullivan's Crossing and The Spencer Sisters can be seen tomorrow on both The CW Toledo affiliate WTVG 13.2 and Windsor's CTV2 affiliate CHWI 16 & 26 on the night they air.

With DirecTV, they can be received via the network's Washington, DC affiliate, WDCW 50

And with YouTube TV, they can be received via the National CW Plus feed.
