Makes me wonder if Crazy Ed ever bothered to get the main transmitter and associated gear off Mt. Potosi. If not, I don’t think the tower owners are under any obligation to give it back after this long…anything 104.3 related belongs to them!

As soon as I saw the $20 Memorex boombox being used as a tx site monitor, I knew I was looking at another quality Royce International station. I’d be curious how the KBET site and/or KREV in SF looks. I’m presuming both are worse.

KREV will move to Sutro Tower by December 31, when the lease on the Candlestick site where KSFB(AM) has its antenna expires. As soon as I saw the $20 Memorex boombox being used as a tx site monitor, I knew I was looking at another quality Royce International station. Does that mean KSFB (AM) will go off the air?KREV will move to Sutro Tower by December 31, when the lease on the Candlestick site where KSFB(AM) has its antenna expires.

Digging through the FCC's AM Query indicates that KSFB's owner also owns the tower. ASR Registration 1053379I think KSFB owns that tower.
Gee.... Think maybe there was some problem with paying tower rent at some point in time? That's a hard decision for the Friends of KEXP, but I think in this case the higher elevation closer to the center of the city is going to be an advantage, even though it means giving up the higher power and its resultant building penetration.Digging through the FCC's AM Query indicates that KSFB's owner also owns the tower. I was in the Bay Area a couple of weeks ago and heard dead carrier with stereo pilot on 92.7. So they're not really paying attention, apparently.

Given that Sutro is a well-established broadcasting facility, with space identified on the lower part of one of the legs of the tower, KREV should be able to get up and running there fairly easily. And, if not, KEXP may be able to work something out.Keep in mind the current tower lease ends this week.

The rent at the Stratosphere is…stratosphericApplication today for K276GX, KBETs FM Translator. Mod to move to Black Mountain
"It is proposed to modify the K276GX construction permit file number
0000194673 to relocate to a different transmitter site, and to change operating power and antenna
parameters. Presently, K276GX holds a construction permit for the structure in Las Vegas
known as the "Stratosphere". It has been determined that installation at the Stratosphere is
unfeasible, thus this application is submitted."
