New Houston area LPFMs

🤣🤣🤣

Someone should've pointed out to Dade that North Cleveland is a long haul from Galveston island.
We should note that the KILE call, long associated with 1400 in Galveston, has since been on 1560 in Houston (Bellaire) as well as stations in Hilo, Hawaii and Woodland Park, Colorado.

From Dade Moore on Facebook this morning:
KILE Call Letters I am trying to get moved back home to Texas, OMG!! My phone and email are blowing up today. Hold On put the breaks on. Yes there is a construction permit issued for Cleveland Texas for a new Low Power radio station in Cleveland Texas now showing approved for North Cleveland Texas, It is not what you think. That is not me on that licenses. That is my son Dade Moore and his mother and it is not for Commercial use l but yes it was my idea to bring back the call letters KILE. I have been the owner of the domain http://www.KILE.FM for 8 years now. Why? The Late John Walton and Lainie Walton had talked about putting them on the old KXXF Free 105.3 in Beaumont Branded KILE but John and I talked and we went the other direction to use KXXF. John Walton like many people worked on the air at the old KILE 1400 AM Galveston, Texas at one time where the call sign was used from 1957-1991 KILE.

Yes sir, and if he (or his son) wants to resurrect an old AM callsign, the legacy call in Cleveland was KLEV. It's been around 30 years since it was deleted, but it operated either on 1400 or 1410. I can't for the life of me remember which right now!

Hurry up, Keurig!

Looking it up it was 1410. There’s also already a KLEV-LP

It was 1410, originally KVLB. It went off the air and returned as KJCH before going off the air again before being deleted.

Checking some online databases, the 1410 in Cleveland was KLEV during its final years mid-80s to when the license was deleted on 2/19/1993. I recall hearing it with that call in and around Houston during that time but the signal was poor…I think they ran 1kw directional. Can’t remember offhand if it was daytime only or full time.

I don’t know if Cleveland would be considered Houston but 94.9 KILE-LP has a L2C for tomorrow

On the air yet?
Not too sure. I’ll probably have to wait for decent tropos to catch it since it’s a wide open frequency. It wasn’t on the 21st when I last drove through there though.
