All the LPFM applications from Weather Alert Radio Network, including a number in the vicinity of Houston, were dismissed by the FCC today. No surprise there.
Up the road a little bit, a CP for an LPFM in North Cleveland, Texas on 94.9 was granted today. Owner is Tarkington Radio Club.

🤣🤣🤣The station now has a call: KILE-LP.
I'm sure that Dade knows since he's had engineering projects in Texas and Louisiana for many years.🤣🤣🤣
Someone should've pointed out to Dade that North Cleveland is a long haul from Galveston island.
We should note that the KILE call, long associated with 1400 in Galveston, has since been on 1560 in Houston (Bellaire) as well as stations in Hilo, Hawaii and Woodland Park, Colorado.🤣🤣🤣

Yes sir, and if he (or his son) wants to resurrect an old AM callsign, the legacy call in Cleveland was KLEV. It's been around 30 years since it was deleted, but it operated either on 1400 or 1410. I can't for the life of me remember which right now!We should note that the KILE call, long associated with 1400 in Galveston, has since been on 1560 in Houston (Bellaire) as well as stations in Hilo, Hawaii and Woodland Park, Colorado.
Looking it up it was 1410. There’s also already a KLEV-LPYes sir, and if he (or his son) wants to resurrect an old AM callsign, the legacy call in Cleveland was KLEV. It was 1410, originally KVLB. It went off the air and returned as KJCH before going off the air again before being deleted.Yes sir, and if he (or his son) wants to resurrect an old AM callsign, the legacy call in Cleveland was KLEV. Checking some online databases, the 1410 in Cleveland was KLEV during its final years mid-80s to when the license was deleted on 2/19/1993. I recall hearing it with that call in and around Houston during that time but the signal was poor…I think they ran 1kw directional. Can’t remember offhand if it was daytime only or full time.It was 1410, originally KVLB. It went off the air and returned as KJCH before going off the air again before being deleted.

Not too sure. I’ll probably have to wait for decent tropos to catch it since it’s a wide open frequency. It wasn’t on the 21st when I last drove through there though. On the air yet?
I'm near hobby airport. Playing J*E FMNot a new station, but KHGV-LP notified the FCC that it has resumed operations. I’m nowhere near the station so cannot confirm this.
(Original KHGV thread got shut down.)
