It's been explained. Hudson SQuare. No further guesses allowed."New York City has a brand new "Q"". That's all I could come up with.

This is really not something you would expect, or makes much sense, but this is apparently it.
I guess there's a call letter shortage.Yes, it is. Somewhere lost in these 42 pages, that was previously revealed (and I'm not inclined to go look for it).
I guess there's a call letter shortage.
That means, of course, that there were cuts to existing WINS staff to accommodate that.
I don't know that that is the conclusion I'd make. That means, of course, that there were cuts to existing WINS staff to accommodate that.
…and considering they get said once an hour during the TOH ID, and GKB probably doesn’t want to move the WEPN calls to a leased property, this completely checks out. What makes you say that? I think WHSQ is perfectly fine, given that Audacy was legally required to change them from WCBS.
It's not just OSU fans that are like that. U of M fans are just as crazy, and many others. It's just a game. Get on with your life. I have the feeling that much of the vomiting is from drinking too much, combined with losing the game. There are people in my neck of the woods who graduated from THE Ohio State University [Don't get me started on that "THE" crap] and are so wrapped up in their football team they literally get physically ill when they lose. I mean, puking and crying, etc. I think how mentally ill must you be to let something upset you that much that has NO effect on your life [unless you lost a crapload of money gambling on them]. I know hundreds, if not thousands, of people and sometimes ask them what sports radio stations they listen to and they usually look at me like testicles just sprouted from my forehead and usually it's "I don't listen unless a football, basketball, baseball game is on". There must be a diehard core of schmoes that hang on every word some sport spoutin' washed up jock is blathering on about but I can't see how they can get the ratings that some of them do. I just remember hearing one sports station that didn't have rights to the Cleveland Browns.....well, you could tell they were just watching the game and describing what was taking place on the field. It just sounded pathetic. I like SOME sports, and just one of the Big Three that are usually covered but I'm not gonna spend a lot of my time watching even the ones I like. The dumbest had to be a radio station broadcasting a high school wrestling match as I was sitting behind the announcer...."He just threw a high crotch lift into a gramby followed by a single leg takedown duck under leading to back points and now trying for the pin!" I'm thinking there is NOBODY except a blind ex-wrestler who can't get out anymore even understanding one thing you are saying."
Ehhhh, MY life will go on, I don't give a rat or twos ass about football, at least the American version. And the ones I know that got barfy over OSU losing......don't drink. Could have been food poisoning from one of the overpriced concession stands. It's not just OSU fans that are like that. U of M fans are just as crazy, and many others. It's just a game. Get on with your life. I have the feeling that much of the vomiting is from drinking too much, combined with losing the game.
This is not a new station. It has been around since 2001. It is just moving from 98.7 to 880.Reminds me of, and almost sounds like they (Audacy) are competing with themselves (Kinda but not really?) Really Nice to Have 2 Major AM signals, Now with the Sports Format in NYC, on 660 & 880. Between those I wonder which has the bigger brand recognition in NYC, or who might get the bigger ratings/audience?
Perhaps it's not quite a carbon copy of "The Fan" - but I guess it adds more variety to the dial, similar to on TV, when ESPN-2 came around in the 1990s.

I guess I'm still missing your point. We already had 2 all sports stations.Absolutely, I was saying that we just went from
having 2 "All News Stations" (880 & 1010), to
having 2 "All Sports Stations" Instead.
I Have Fond Memories of 98.7
When it was Kiss FM (WRKS) in the 1990s.
Kinda Hard to believe It's been gone far so long.
