Kevin & Sluggo Cut At KLOS

There has to be more to this than the things that are being assumed or criticized here. Meruelo just named a new operations manager, so this change is likely more than a coincidence.
Are you saying the new OM didn't know about the "Where's Kevin" Honda promotion? It's a bit strange to start a promotion at the same moment you terminate the guy.
Whether the morning show was fired for cost cutting or other reasons isn't the issue. It just looks slipshod...

He arrived when, very probably, the "engines had been started" and all he could do was turn them off.

It looks more like "My motor is making a funny noise. can you stop it?"

(End of car analogies)

It has been well-documented that UHF is superior to VHF for digital television ... a complete reversal of what was the case for analog. And the low-VHF channels (2 through 6) are the worst.
VHF channels above 7 are only slightly better. Here in San Diego, I have line-of-sight to the transmitters on Mt. Soledad about 15 miles away. Two full-power stations are on RF 8 and 10. Yet the signals sometimes break up or disappear if I walk across my room. However, that never happens with the *low*-power Spanish-language stations on UHF, at the same site.

Same problem in Denver with KMGH (7) and KUSA (9) and their Mt. Lookout locations. I have to use an amplified antenna to pick them up consistently, and I'm in the city of Denver proper. In the case of KUSA, they've taken to simulcasting on a subchannel of co-owned KTVD (virtual 20, RF 31) as "9.4". The legal IDs on KUSA always include KTVD as a result. So it's evident that they know they have a problem with the VHF signal.

They really shouldn't be. Kimmel discovered Corolla while training at Adam's boxing gym for a bit on the Kevin & Bean Show and he fell into radio through that.

Jimmy was one of the biggest radiogeeks you'd find. He even had an account on this site in the early/mid 2000s concurrent with hosting his late night TV show. Prior to moving to TV he worked in radio in multiple markets including Phoenix, Tucson, Seattle, and was PD/morning host at 92.7 KCMJ Palm Springs where his intern turned co-host was Carson Daly prior to joining Kevin & Bean.

Kimmel has frequently said he thought Jimmy Kimmel Live would get cancelled fairly quickly and he'd have gone back to morning radio, likely joining Carolla on KLSX when it became Free-FM as he was a consulting producer on that show.
I’m sure he’s still here

Someone on Threads mentioned no Breakfast with the Beatles this morning on KLOS, but I can’t confirm

Still listed on the website. I rarely listen because I have other obligations on Sunday morning, but I will see if I still have a valid e-mail for Chris Carter to ask him about it.

If that is true that would be The last Beatles show on terrestrial radio for LA. The sound did carry Beatles but they flipped formats klos would be the last la station carrying a Sunday with the Beatles as far as I know

Pio's been in the building for four months already. While he was just getting in after the first round of cuts took place, he and the PD (who has been at KLOS for a decade) should have known this marketing piece was starting and to either delay it or get their digital people to wipe it immediate after the cuts were made.

As a digital content consultant, the fact the posts ARE STILL UP over two days later is embarrassing if it happened in Las Cruces let alone Los Angeles.

IF that is true (I get so tired of people speculating on the flimsiest of a basis) and PRESUMING Chris wouldn't just want to do the SiriusXM show and lower his work load, he could always approach KCSN/KSBR with it.

If and when Chris replies to my e-mail, I will report same. Meanwhile, please stay calm. The panic belongs on the streets of London.

So you're saying the incompetence at Meruelo continues ...?

With Marci Wiser let go months ago and now Kevin and Sluggo out... KLOS is effectively rudderless for 9 hours after Heidi & Frank's Show ends.

That is, unless they have a replacement set up, we shall hear.

Meruelo have done nothing for Wiser's empty slot and have just been a classic rock jukebox for those hours so it wouldn't surprise me at all if it just continued until Greg Beharrell's Show at 7pm.

Absolute soulless programming for a heritage station.
