Houston area radio notes (update thread)

la mejor never did much both versions of it . Different times.
What do you mean? I loved La Mejor, especially LA MEJOR MVS. What didn’t help them in my opinion was being on that weak 102.5 translator.

I don’t like La Calle but surprised it didn’t move to 99.5

you would think the engineer at univison would already know that UNIVISION has a signed contract for multiple HD'S that will be used by Latino Broadcasting.
but we dont, maybe they did but locally we dont. it just shows how a lpfm operates, if they did the correct thing, it would not even be an issue, its not our license, its theirs
legally we know how to operate, obviously radioislife2020 doesnt

Tuned across KKHT today and the audio is at full robust level, instead of the low levels that have plagued the station recently. Also noticed they have shut off the stereo. Did KKHT finally get its new transmitter on the air? Chuck Tiller?

K235CS 94.9 (KLVL translator in NW Harris County) has filed a Silent STA due to loss of lease at the current tower site. A check of 94.9 at my Cy-Fair location reveals a weak KRUT.

K235CS does have a CP to move to a location slightly east of the existing site.

Yes, we did. Since KKHT is mainly a talk station, we use mono. Plus it helps in it's coverage. When you are on a move-in frequency, you have to to get it to an optiman, as much as possible.

I noticed since last night ESPN 92.5 is a lot stronger. And possibly 94.1

The 100.7 low audio levels issue has returned, though the station is still in mono…? Back on the old transmitter?

Will be interesting to see if I can catch it over a KHCB station during tropos
At just over 50 feet elevation, you'll be hard-pressed to receive it inside of Baybrook Mall.

"Home of Good Music" calls?

And speaking of Hector Guevara, I notice that Centro filed Silent STA requests today for several FMs stations in Texas: KJJB, KQBI, KQCI and KZIC. Financial problems given for three, the other was technical issues.

The FCC today granted a License to Cover for K247CX 97.3 in Richmond, Texas, and dismissed the objections of Gow Media to the facility on procedural grounds. Translator will (supposedly) rebroadcast KQUE 980.

FCCData.org has facility info under its previous call K264CN: https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&facid=147202

Long explanation of the decision on the attachment to the filing:
