1110 New Format

I remember WBT on 1110 having a liberal host. John Hancock maybe?

I remember him by name, more on that in a minute. I believe he did Afternoon Drive, man, that's been a looooooong time ago. I don't remember his slant, but if he was liberal, kinda ironic, given his name. Was he the one that always closed with, don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things?

I'm not planning to listen except in the car but yesterday I did hear what I believe to have been new songs. At least they didn't sound familiar to me. I also heard the familiar songs. The style of music was pretty much the same.

Really! Wow!

With no one listening to 1110, except for those on this board, at least the Urban One receptionist doesn't have to answer the flood of "What happened, you're not the air?" phone calls. I wonder if people even bother these days to let the station know. And that's whether they have one listener or 100,000.

Sorry, got one of those oops messages and subsequently, accidentally double-quoted/double-posted, looks like in the same post, argh.

A DJ told me a while back, since he has a full-time job and works the station primarily on the weekends and the GM is split between several responsibilities as well, the first DJ mentioned here, drafted one of the listeners to call (maybe) his cellphone (can't quite remember), if the station goes off.

well we have a winner!! YOU ARE POSTER #1110
congratulations on such an iconic achievement. number 1110!!

I wondered who was gonna get that distinction, thanks Amos and it was on a messed up post to boot LOL! Whatta I win!

I never listened. I only know what I read in The Charlotte Observer.
