Anyone whose already hired at WJW or WKYC should be scared and pray that they won't get cut as a result of the merger. If these major corporations have deep pockets to buy multiple stations or a station group, then they should continue to hold onto the existing staff.Uncle Perry and his minions from Nexstar have yet to slash the staffs of 3 and 8 in preparation of the merger with Tegna. Unfortunately it's coming, so there will be many meteorologists in Cleveland that will be looking for work soon.
I don't care what these corporations say, the FCC should continue to limit ownership of a full power station with a major network affiliation to just one per market, and no more than 2 full power stations per market if one of them isn't affiliated with a major network.
