10 AM on 96.9, and...

If this is the new format...ugghh...Another rhythmic station. At least 101.7 thought a little out of the box. Lets see..you can get basically the same stuff on Jammin, 103.3, 107.9..variations on the same music.

I would imagine there will be zero listeners from the former format.

Once again, listeners over the age of 45 or 50 have no reason to listen to the FM band, with the exception of the sports stations, if you are into sports. This is just another nail in the coffin. I guess it makes good business sense, I suppose. There are so many people who don't like this crap.

Isn't there room for a 60's 70's based Oldies format or a soft AC(ala WFEZ)? I guess not.

I'm listening to the first half hour of the new format. 96.9 is history for me, and I would imagine countless others.

It's Urban, not Rhythmic, Top 40, Hot AC, Classic Hits, or whatever other crazy format y'all dream up. Get over it!

LOL.. you've arrived at the angry old white people board. *KIDDING no offense to anyone here ;) *

You have to admit this station sounds 1000% better than Jam'ns lame 5 song rotation playlist..

Radio for people who don't know how baseball caps and pants work, and for whom "da" is an article and "-z" means plural.

LOL. Some people don't know when to put the pretentious slang away.

There's a listener for EVERY format. I happen to like EVERY type of music (especially being a DJ) and I can relate to this format getting lots of listeners... but I also enjoyed WODS's oldies/classic format quite a bit as well. I do think there is a void for another 60s/70s/80s oldies rhythmic type of format. WROR should tweak...they sound very safe and repetitive as they are IMO.

As a "close to being a granpa" all you granpas are embarrassing me.
Stop it.

You can not hear this music on 94.5, 103.3 or 107.9.

And? They buy stuff too, you know. Are you really shocked that radio, a low-rent medium, is selling stuff to low-rent people?

This is not the final format They will not be #1 greater media does not do Urban

Really? What the **** is Greater Media doing right now? Turn on your radio.

Exactly. For a "company that doesn't do Urban" this sounds like a damn good version of it right here.

Massachusetts' population is 84% white. This is why Jamn has always played it safe. It appeals to the white kids too. This format is primarily an African American format. I know some white folks like it, but lets face it, this is primarily an African American format. I think it will be a hard sell.

I'm in Charlotte, and have never listened to any station in Boston (no Urban). So I have no idea how Jamz sounds. Power 98 spins their powers around 120 a week, which is very aggravating (and stupid). So I can imagine. But this new station sounds decent, still needs some tweaking, though.

"The state's most populous ethnic group, non-Hispanic white, has declined from 95.4% in 1970 to 76.4% in 2011.[102][104] As of 2011, non-Hispanic whites were involved in 63.6% of all the births."

Seems to me like demos are changing..

If this was Urban ac I would agree with you. But this is straight up contemporary urban. A LOT of white kids listen to rap.

Boston is 24.4% black. No station catering to 24.4% of the audience? Seems like a no brainer!

Exactly...and by the numbers, CT is 77% white, and they have a similar station with Hot 93.7 that has been #1. Yes it CAN work.

Yes, they are. But I doubt it's the African American population that is growing.
