Thing is, whatever this is, this is almost too focused to be a stunt. As was mentioned before, whoever is programming the new format knows what they are doing. I mean, they are doing a "Good" job of doing Urban. If they wanted to be ridiculous they could just loop 5 rap songs over as a stunt?

Well, here is my 2 cents. They hired Cadillac Jack McCarthy for a reason, and I doubt it was to program Magic, 'ROR or any other station in the cluster. Now is it a stunt? I do not know, I haven't even tuned into the station's "new" format yet myself. However, I will say that Boston really an Urban or Urban AC station. So here's my hope that the format stays. :)

If they don't (at least) try and capture the younger demo's, then they are on a slow train to extinction. They could target older demo's, but advertisers are few and far between.

In an odd coincidence, I showed up at work today after 2 weeks off and a radio that I keep in my office was lying on the floor (I guess someone in the cleaning crew knocked it over) and the band selection switch is broken and stuck on AM.
 
Texters are busting Howie's chops about the PSAs that run during his show. His reply was "who else would buy time on this station?"

Power 96.9 does sound alot like Power 105.1, so it could be true. It hasn't been officially announced yet, though. That would be even more proof that the format will stick. I know that's not what some of you want to hear.... ;D :D ;D :D ;)
 
He came from New York, market #1, so you know he's making money. Why would Greater Media pay all that money for a stunt? ??? Ohhhh.....maybe it's NOT A STUNT! :eek:
 
That's not saying much. Radio One took control of 105.3 in Charlotte in August, and didn't update their website until November. You're just looking for reasons to validate your denial.

Now don't put words in my mouth, have you even read my previous posts? I am sitting back here as a spectator seeing what is out there both pro and con. ;)
