CBS believes it will be more of a lucrative package for advertisers.

I don't put any stock in this story.

I also hear the fcc will be in town soon to investigate some stations in the sac market that are overmodulating. big fines on the way?

Yeah, thats a big problem these days isn't it? (Tongue planted firmly in cheek.)

Do you have any credibility?

Yo Juan..the fcc just fined a station here for not running an id properly. Don't fool yourself, the industry may be de-regulated but they still pick and choose and if they get numerous complaints they WILL investigate.

Considering the FCC doesn't do ANYTHING to pirates, I don't think thats the case.

There aren't many operators in Sactown that would run their FM with overmodulation. (Overmodulation on FM causes distortion.)

I can't imagine any operator who would do this. (Are we talking a college station?)

Which station is that?

I'm just waiting for ANYTHING to prove your statements true.

KBZC was cited by the FCC for missing 8 legal IDs over the fall, they have yet to be fined.

That depends on the IF bandwidth of the individual receivers. In most cases you can run FM at 110 to 115% easily without distortion. In fact, a station with 20% SCA injection can legally run 110% modulation, and many do.

Don, don't know if you've just been under a rock or not too bright but pirates are getting busted in Tampa, New Jersey, NY, Houston and many other places. Many stations modulate 120-130 and even higher and it sounds distorted especially in the digital domain.

YOU sir are the one with no credibility.
