102.5: this month's format

I know it's a stunt but I have enjoyed hearing the Chairman of the Board in the car today. Frank rules!

Which makes me wonder why no station in these parts airs The Sounds of Sinatra with Sid Mark. Great program and nobody knows more about Frank's music than Sid.

Can we just get a Scott/WMRO board please and move on. Firepoint needs to move from Pee-grum now.
Sadly, as we've stated before --- the best sounding stations (musically) always get bad ratings. The more
over played crap ya play the better the numbers. I can only imagine how bad 102.5 will have to sound if they
try to get a 3.0 share...

Two other questions and a comment:

1.) Is Dean done?

2.) Scott, how about flipping to oldies at 11:00 tonight? Maybe even Spanish oldies sprinkled in? Call it
BUNTIN Oldies ONE-FIVE--SIXTY PLUS...

Like or not Tibbs, you have to consider the AM's in the market. They do draw a following, just like Lon Shsh on 610, WRUS. Lon Sosh is on there playing oldies and it does get into the Nashville Market with it's low dial position and 2500 watts, daytime. I can even hear it in your neck of the woods.

As far as BUNTIN is concern, AND I MAKE THIS CLEAR. I'll own the station, he doesn't. I make the decisions and it will stay the way it is, for the next ten years of so. I gave Buntin all the 50's, 60's & 70's Oldies CD's we had in the station and told him to take them home. They won't get played here again!

Amen -- Allelujah !!!

Wait there's a format idea>

Nock

Scott could get a couple of us in there with him each week with a few bottles of AM and we could spend an hour going off. Look at what we've covered on this board lately - politics, sports, health issues... we'd be in syndication in no time. Compared to some other people who shall not be named who have managed syndication, we should have no problem!

Now I know you're kidding! Lon Sosh? You had it right with your typo! Lon Shush is right! Someone needs to muzzle him! And you gotta be kidding! Hear him in Nashville? On WRUS? What a joke!!

He may be okay for a small town like Russellville, but make no mistake, Russellville is NOT is not in the Nashville SMSA!

I can't! I bought a house there! ;D

Y'all never mind me. I'm just having a boring day at work. (Last few days, actually!) When I get busy again, I won't be as visible again, except maybe in the evenings.

There's no way this could be an elaborate ruse?

I was afraid not. How could a failed format possibly be better than a failed format?

Take a look at their website. At least it's a new logo, and we now know for sure Kid Kraddick will be the morning show.

Yeah, all of Cromwell's Parties kick off with Kraddick in the mornings. Cromwell wanted to keep them all on the same page and Kraddick wanted to be in the Nashville market.

That previous 102.5 The Party website

has been removed as of 12:26 am Thurs. This may be more interesting than I feared.

Well, something must be up. Cromwell is sure keeping the new format's secret really secret.

Plus, there's already a WPRT in Prestonburg, KY

but it's an AM. WORT may be available

I've tried looking, but is there a place to go to see if a station has applied for call letters? All Access is still claiming they'll go Top 40. I have my doubts. There's also nothing on Kidd Kraddicks website.

Okay, it's almost like someone at Cromwell is reading this board! Today is Garth day! Didn't someone here suggest that the other day?

With that in mind, here's my advice to Cromwell: Drop the separate programming on 102.5/102.9, and just simulcast the Buzz (or whatever) over both stations! (You know, like the Fish does with both of their Nashville-area stations?) That way, you can turn that stupid "translator" off, and you'll have one station (hopefully one good one!) that will blanket all of Nashville, and you won't need translators anymore!

Oh, and don't go back to any format that previously failed you! If it didn't work before, what makes you think it will work now? Try something new, and innovative! (Yeah, right, like that'll ever happen! ::))

Cromwell, people on this board have long memories, and if you go back to a failed previous format again, we will expect it to fail (again!)! ::)

Jiminmidtn, may try this: http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/status/

There are "Broadcast Actions" through 8/28, but I can't find Call Sign changes later than 7/10. "102.5 All Farm Reports. All the time."

Thanks! "All Farm Reports", makes me think I'm back in Kansas. Their web person must have just gotten to work because they've updated V102.5.com to Garth FM
