106.1 the breeze

I would classify "Hotel California" as Classic Hits/Classic Rock more than AC. But "You're Beautiful" and "Material Girl" definitely fit comfortably in any AC library.
Hotel California did reach #10 on the Adult Contemporary charts back in 1977.

If the Breeze played the Hell Freezes Over version, then it will be even more fitting for AC.

This is a completely changed station. I wonder how Audacy will strike back? What do you think they’ll do to compete with 3 hours commercial free and this station playing anything they play?

Also, their new promos on the breeze. Just heard one that says, here’s another relaxing favorite and it’s “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt. - Dating myself, but I remember when that was #1 on Q102’s hot 8 at 8.

I hear Gaga at times , but I see what you mean by older more time than not.
They probably played "Just Dance" this morning to get people moving at 6 AM.

Speaking of 106.1. If Valerie Knight isn't there, and they use Jack Craticle is he VT?
Last week he was filling in for her. The traffic wasn't live, it was total traffic recording.
Where as when Valarie is there its Bob Kelly and its obveaous its live.

The Breeze is a really good station…they played Hotel California” by The Eagles on my way home from work …I’m waiting for ”More Than a Feeling” by Boston.

He is, isn’t local to Philly. Helen is also in NYC. Valerie is a Philly chick and talks live to Bob.

I totally agree. I turn 40 next week and this station is right up my alley!
So you were seven years from being born when those two songs were hits. Another member of the "Outlier Generation" heard from! (Outliers being what radio folks call people who don't conform to the general profile of their age/race/ethnicity group.)

I was wondering where I heard this one commercial on 106.1 and it hit me, they are using the “Soft Rock” AC station on IHeartRadio streaming app. The commercial says, we play 3 parts variety. The greatest hits from all time, best variety from yesterday and today. I believe the “relaxing favorites” lingo is going. I’m a gambling man, it’s going to be “106.1 The Breeze, playing your favorites”!

I unscope aircheck The Breeze mornings several times a year with Valarie. That's the only time I'll check that station because its live and local then.
Just recorded for the first time today full show on my new to me, fully modded Carver TX-11B!

Any idea what jingle package they use?
I've liked all of the jingles they've had over the years so far too!

Modern radio listeners, with few exceptions. aren't going to abandon a station playing music they like because the voices interrupting the music flow are coming from someplace else or have been prerecorded. Most aren't radio pros or radio geeks, so they probably don't even notice.

This is very true. However I'm no normal radio listener as evidence by the questions I asked.
