106.9 the new home for Pulse 101.7

"I'm confused, your saying 101.7 is now WDVH-FM again and that they are tri-mulcasting WDVH-AM and WRZN-AM My head is spinning……"

Sorry, they are back to WDVH-FM but still simulcasting 106.9 The Pulse. I am guessing they will end up simulcasting WDVH-AM and WRZN which makes sense I guess but wish it was classic country or oldies and not Fox News radio.

Jeff, thanks for clearing that up but my head is still spinning! There should be an Emoticon for that ::) You are probably right on the trimulcast thing though. What a strange situation; too many radio stations, too few formats!

I was out of town for a week and I came back and 101.7 and 106.9 are still simulcasting from the same tower. I guess this is another instance of just keeping something going out on the air to keep the license. It's a shame that people buy a group of stations and don't have the wherewithal to do decent programming on all the stations.

First Monday in December, 101.7/106.9 still simulcasting. Since the 20th of September! Very odd that this has gone on for so long.

"THIS IS NIGHTLINE, I'M TED KOPPEL. DAY 73 (MORE OR LESS) AND THE SIMULCAST CONTINUES. WHEN WILL THIS MADNESS END? EXCLUSIVE AUDIO AFTER THESE MESSAGES!"

a salesperson from another station oncetold me the satellite classic country had great ratings in gilchrist county. why not bring back ? hell i'm sure there's a satellite alternative format or two available. god forbid we should get to hear thom hartmann, randi rhodes and stephanie miller !

The Central Florida Radio site  is noting a report that 1430 is picking up Jim Rome in January and speculating they might be changing from gospel to the new CBS Sports network.  I wonder if this is what they have 101.7 on hold for—a simulcast with 1430?  It might work for Gilchrist county and 101.7 but Gainesville is saturated with sports stations.

I'm sorry, I cant let this thread die until we learn the fate of poor WDVH/WPLL/WDVH 101.7. 901Rocks, whats the latest????????????????

101.7 & 106.9 are still simulcasting (from the same tower), 1430 is still gospel, and 980/720 are still simulcasting Fox News talk. MARC still has Magic/1430 and The Buzz that I guess bring in some money but they have just given up on the rest of their stations. Why did they buy this group??? I can't believe they are generating enough income to justify the $5 million purchase price of the stations and the building.

This simulcast has been going on since last September! I'm not sure what the plan is or if they even have a plan, for 101.7.
101.3 does ok and 100.5 The Buzz isn't going anywhere since the Rock 104 flip.
I really can't imagine Pulse FM, on the 100,000 watt 106.9, can do better than KZY did as Hot AC.
But running Pulse on 2 frequencies from the same stick for this long, makes absolutely no sense to me.... ::)
I check every couple days and if anything changes I will post it here. ;D

I updated the radio-locator listings. they seriously need somebody to read radioinsight.com and update stations formats and websites and audio feeds. i can't tel you how many corections i've sent them.

In the case of 101.7 and other smaller stations, it's probably hard to keep up with the formats, especially when stations are unstable and change formats every book or two.
