106.9 WKDN will become IQ 106.9

WKDN, Will become IQ 106.9 Merlin requested call letters WWIOQ the current program on the station will go off air this sunday

That radio insight page "106.9 truth and rumors" just posts stuff from this forum. Someone said it might be wwiq here earlier today as well as pointing out the domain registrations of iq1069.com, and then it pops up there. Last week there was a thread here about "the fox" and then it popped up on that rumors page.

You can't post a link to that page as proof that any hypothesis said here is true, because it all comes from here, it's just cyclical. I could say that 106.9 will have oprah, rush, chris matthews, and howard stern. and it might show up there.

I was scanning the dial tonite and came across 106.9 FM. It sounded like a religious format was playing. I didn't know there was a station on that frequency. Does anyone have any information about it? How long has it been there? Is this a viable FM format in Philly? Is it a pirate station? Who owns it? Does anyone think it will last? Or would an entirely different format suit that frequency? Any thoughts?

quadpain, half of the stuff from here & talker.com were correct on wkdn & rush because they investigated. I respect your opinon

And if the rumors are true that WKDN goes to WWIQ, and adds Rush et al, then the station will be geared to low IQ's because it's a proven fact that listening to conservatives makes you stupid!!!

At least there's hope for the other dayparts if they don't go all out Premiere. Have conservative talkers ever done that spectacularly here in Philly? I saw rumblings somewhere of a business-oriented afternoon or night show in the comments thread of an article about 106.9. It's just a bummer to think of the potential for the station and that all the airtime could be given to syndication :-\

I'm mainly interested in overnights. Could they attempt to pull Coast to Coast from PHT as well? Live & local like WBZ or the old Tommy G show on NJ101.5? I'm pulling for local!
