90's Dance Hits
The playlist is surprisingly deep too. I heard "Stay in Love" by Mon A Q -- I'd be willing to bet there wasn't a single IHeart/Clear Channel station that played that song when it was a Current. Now I'm hearing "I'll Fly with You" by Gigi D'Agostino, another rare 90's dance song which was **maybe** played at KTU. They've also been playing freestyle music like "Take me in your arms" by Lil Suzy. So it's not just the "La Bouche" or "Real McCoy" you'd expect to hear.I just tuned in and damn I love this format. Definitely planning to listen today.
It was the Armand Van Helden remix, which was fairly popular in the club circuit. Some interesting selections today. I heard “Professional Widow” by Tori Amos, which I would have never considered for a dance playlist.
I wonder if this is going to launch tomorrow?
They also played “Pump Up the Jam” by Technotronic which came out in ‘89. While not 90s technically, the fit with the 90s “Dance Anthems”Why are they playing a song from 1988
It Takes Two by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock at around 10pm
Probably, like other older, music based formats (I e. Classic Hits), you have your core decade, and also include selections from the previous and latter decade to expand your listening audience. I think it works, with what was played yesterday. They also played “Pump Up the Jam” by Technotronic which came out in ‘89. While not 90s technically, the fit with the 90s “Dance Anthems”

I tend to agree that the new format will either debut today (Friday 5/27/2022) at 5 PM PT (or thereabouts)BTW, Friday's format is "Throwback Jams". Speaking of Friday, could the permanent format launch later today? Now I'm hoping the "Format of the Day" lasts longer, it's been fun to listen to this last week.
