1110 New Format

Not really anything to do with WBT, but have any of you guys done anything with software defined radio? I've played around with http://na5b.com:8901/
And tuned to 1110 kHz after dark. Washington DC is the perfect place to get WBT skip, sometimes it's full quieting. Try it with 10 kHz bandwidth! Ok so it's a little bit about WBT.
Will this radio get any FM broadcast stations? If it will I haven't figured out the setting.
Also, I was hoping to find a SDR near NY, as I wanted to hear WINS AM teletype sound sfx. Their streaming content doesn't have it.

There are some SDRs for FM that have been manufactured, but I haven’t seen any websites that let people listen to stations with them.

I just checked this out, it's pretty sweet.

Interesting: never heard of such, I'll have to look into it. You want teletype? Some is at the end of this recording.

In the spirit of full disclosure, here's where I got that from originally.

Re: the KHJ file from a couple replies back, here's an update thereon.
Dee-Jay Announcer Demo Tapes always seem to be pretty popular around here, so I will start with a vintage 1971 tape compiled by Chuck Martin. I featured him in part of my "Very Short Reel" in my very last post, but here he is again in a somewhat lengthier tape. He was reading ads in that previous tape, but here he is doing the full DJ thang. However, I've just noticed that, while that previous tape had jingles from KHJ, the Chuck Martin section was apparently from WNHC, New Haven, as is this aircheck. This station is now a public radio station, is part of Yale University and is now known as WYBC.

I can't figure it out, but I did just glance at it. I'll look into more of it later.
It's preset to the AM broadcast band, as well as adjacent frequencies such as longwave below 530 kHz. You just punch in the desired frequency as you would into a calculator and enter, or you can slide your cursor along the band. I had no problem using it. If I'm understanding right, you have a front-row seat at a fairly elaborate reception location in the DC area. It may have other frequency options that I couldn't figure out with just a cursory browse through the site.

Ah, your explanation makes sense, like a calculator, gotcha. I'll look into it ASAP.

Bummer, in that 1010 WINS is unlistenable, really wanted to hear the teletype.

BTW, as someone new to these SDR sites, I caught myself pointing my laptop in different directions for a better signal. Lol.

Well, you got further than I did. Gotta say though, re: moving the laptop is plumb funny! :D)
