With the decent numbers that 94.1 had, if you fire the current PD and bring in a new one...you have to think some type of change is coming. After all, why bring on John Stewart to program your station. Nothing better than taking it to your old boss...with your old morning show...on a decent signal that can get into both Akron...and Canton. I bet there will be some big changes...oh, about the time DeLuca's non-compete is up.
However, 3 CHR's in Akron, and Canton, plus 96.5 in Cleveland...not all, can, or will survive. Mix in the country stations, which also skew younger, and newer, and anyone over 40 doesn't have much options on the local dial.
If you like music created before Y2K, your only local choices on the dial...WONE 97.5 and My 101.7...both stations should pick up audience with this change.
