it's apparent that either you are of "asian descent" OR you have some sort of axe to grind with the Dhoom folks from my casual observations based on your apparent fixation with their new station and I guess the old one ... feel free to elaborate on the merit of what you said above and maybe we'll all find the humor in it...

What OTHER frequency would you propose they relocated too? It's not like the band in the NE is congested or cluttered or anything... I would venture to say that there were some significant engineering studies that were done to find their "new" home on 104.7fm. I can't imagine it was an easy task to play second adjacent to TWO Clear Channel stations in NY and Philly.

LOL are you kidding me? i'm Caucasian first of all... apparently you didn't read up on the allegations against Domestic Church Media not financially satisfying their agreements with the owners of WDDM. The result- DCM is yanked off the air. DCM then proceeds to file an application for an opening on 89.3 in Freehold as the "FM Pregnancy Center" who then transfer ownership to DCM during the CP and now simulcast 89.3 and 1260 am. 89.3 displaced WDDM, forcing Dhoom off the air. They reclaim 89.3, a much larger coverage area and a bigger F-U to the owners of WDDM.
My apparent fixation? Maybe if you paid attention to the discussions that took place here over the past 2-3 years or so, you'd understand. Thanks for the drama. ;-)

WNTIRadio said:I would take the 104.7 translator dark so I could pick up WPDI at the 100.7 site in Edison. All it is is a roadblock to them right now. Don't know what the contract terms are with WWFM; I'm assuming that they would have to honor that contract before they pulled the plug.
I don't know how you could null out the translator to pick up WPDI at the 100.7 site. The signal strength and ratios are not in favor of doing so, even with a highly directional antenna it would be a tough catch.

Based on some quick research 104.7 does NOT belong to the WPDI folks unless someone on staff shares a name with the Translator owner according to FCC records...

If that is true, WPDI has NO say in the matter as to what the "owner" of W284BW chooses to do or NOT do. I would say the obvious answer is that there is NO connection because even though revenue IS revenue, WHY would they sacrifice their complimentary coverage with 100.7 to the "competition" which is what I guess "Hum Desi" is, unless the contract issue comes into play and they have to honor it. W284BW has a great height advantage over WPDI from some quick radio-locator checking and so that might explain why it has the apparent "edge" in coverage. That said, I can hear a blend of the translator and WPDI near Hazlet which as a licensed station (even as a Class D) is taking on a great deal of interference from W284BW in their COL so I would think in my general assessment that WPDI will see that W284BW doesn't have long to be in the picture. Unless it relocates (which is still a long-shot) or is reallocated a new frequency it's soon to be dark. This would be no big deal to MCC since their signal on the main carrier can still be heard fairly well in the area.
Also if I'm not mistaken, this same translator has reportedly caused a great deal of problems for WRNJ's translator on the same frequency but the rules are looser for translator to translator interference so it appears that they have a CP to reformat their signal with W284AQ. Should be interesting to see how this one plays out. My odds go to WPDI's hand.

Thanks for reading.
PS - I actually thought their audio on WPDI has a lot more of a "punch" then the previous run on 89.3 FM. Maybe they invested in some new equipment... but that was only when I got south of Sayreville.
