Unfortunately, that is not kxt's playlist. That is from KGSR in Austin... kxt's playlist is much more obscure.Dr. o Fun said:jeffdfw said:I was hoping for something more like KGSR in Austin... you know where you recognize at least some of the songs...

Jeff,
Of the 40 songs you copied and pasted, I recognized (and regularly listen to) 25 of them. It was a pretty eclectic list but, pretty much, right in my wheelhouse. So far KXT is putting a smile on my face. I think the morning announcer is a bit mundane (and I could do without the NPR news) but the music and lack of commercial inventory makes up for it.

And, yes, the NPR news is completely unnecessary.
Final note: A Texas Triple-A should air Willie and Stevie Ray. Deep Jimi, too.

TEXAS Musicians, especially local Texas musicians should be featured.....
These are ones that I'd like to hear:
Shawn Phillips
Bugs Henderson
Point Blank
Butth@le Surfers
I don't want News Breaks..... or Stock Market Quotes or Traffic Reports....
I already know where I can get those in abundance.... I really really already know....
I just want MUSIC on KXT.
Is that too much to ask ? ? ? ?

I think a full service station would be just fine.
mediawonk said:The point of a station like this is to open listeners' ears to great new artists and music, while treating them to great older songs by established artists as well. So far KXT is doing an excellent job of that, and filling a void long present in D/FW radio.

Huh? 90.9 and 91.7 were the only Cedar Hill stations broadcasting anything close to religious programming. Plus, 90.9 does not really do politics. Why are you so hostile?
amisdead said:You missed a couple:
88.5 KEOM Oldies
88.7 KTCU Variety
Just labeling the stations as "Christian" is like labeling KISS, The Wolf, and WRR all as "Music." KVRK and KCBI have very little in common as far as content and audience go. And certainly a far cry from your pejorative "big-signaled rightwing evangelicals."
Also, 40% hardly qualifies as domination by any definition I am aware of.
