92.3 WGST

Is now on the air, and has a big signal where I live. Ironically it comes in better than 95.5 (now on 750) in Virginia Highlands.

I was listening tonight from spaghetti junction down the east wall perimeter into Ellenwood and got a lot bleed in from 92.3 out of Monroe.

Yep, this could also be a huge problem from Chattanooga, it is always like a local in the northern suburbs. WDEF

In north central Gwinnett, I can't receive it at all. It's like it doesn't exist. I've checked for it and if you didn't tell me it was on, I wouldn't know it. On the radio with my best antenna - Nothing. I hear the Chattanooga signal (Sunny 92.3 WDEF - Your Weekend - Honda of Cleveland - lights at Rock City) fading in-and-out on the portable radio. Sunny is clearly the best and only signal at 92.3 here. I don't care for one-sided political talk shows, so I would rather have Sunny 92.3.

92.3 is WMOQ out in the Monroe area,as for 99.3 they go all the way down to Macon, they are hard to pick up on house radios.

Do you think their stick is somewhere near me, maybe the tower site off of Briarcliff?? Or Richland, because the signal here is very strong.

No sign of it in north Cobb. Up here the 92 3 from TN is usually pretty strong.

It seems like that 92.3 is really only going to be strong in the area that gets 640 okay through the night.

You may have a very interesting point, there. Here in Dunwoody (right at 10 miles from the Briarcliff site), it comes in very poorly - mostly static with faint audio that bleeds with another co-channel (I'm guessing WDEF). All of the other translators from there are coming in clear as a bell with full quieting.

It's the stick beside the Richland stick. They are side-by-side IIRC.

There is a null to the east, but it's more toward Lawrenceville than Suwanee. If it's testing at half power, it could have a stronger signal in a few weeks. I just tried again and I could hear music on WDEF, with a very faint talk show in the background on the radio with my best antenna. The voice seems to match 640, but is not clear enough to hear what the show is about.

What's going on with the 100.9 Bull/CC translator in Woodstock (looks like it's on the 105.7 stick)? Currently it's 7W, but has a CP to go to a full 250.

100.9 is already broadcasting at .25 kW, with religious music. It's one of many religious translators planned for The Bull's HD2. This is one of the best translators, but the audio quality isn't there. In radio today, it's how loud can you go and this isn't loud enough. :D Audio processing technology is keeping up too, so you can go louder today than you could just five years ago.

I actually saw a billboard along Hwy 41 (sb) adverting 100.9. This is in Kennesaw.

Can you describe? Branding, moniker, format, etc.?

Simple- "100.9 FM" and then
Something about christian

Its right around Jiles and 41 southbound

Solid signal on 92.3 in Smyrna near Emory Adventist Hospital. Can pick it up rock solid on my Sony pocket radio and Panasonic clock radio, even makes WCLK hard to tune at 91.9 due to the wide action of the AFC.

91.9 WCLK is also moving, but to the Richland Tower a few feet away from 92.3. WCLK will have almost five times more signal strength than 92.3 and over twice the height. I think it will be multiplexed with Journey, 93.7 The Zone and X? Anyone have an update on WCLK's move? Like I said, I have a preset waiting for it. I expect a really good solid signal out here, because Journey and X are strong here.

The last good translator will be at 94.5. I think someone has a .25 kW permit for it at Stone Mountain? Art's Suwanee translator at 93.5 will be the most interesting to watch for translator-to-translator interference with The Zone's translator and any impact on 93.3. I think it has a null toward the Richland tower, but it could cause some problems when its built-out.
