92.3 WGST

Now if they had programming that mattered otherwise who cares.
Rusty Humphries in PM drive is good, but the rest of their sked seems built around the fact that they have had no night signal to speak of.

If they could get a night signal they could snatch Hannity from WSB and put Humphries in AM drive.

You are wrong.. Sunday i listened and never heard "NOW" only "NEW" not sure where you go that from. im sure they wanted to be different from wsb .
Welcome to the board, "Coax". I know you have made a wonderful first impression here with your first words from your first post ("You are wrong..") ::), and will probably impress us even more with your second post, so Happy Thanksgiving.

By the way, I saw the WGST web page that clearly said "NOW ALSO ON 92.3 FM", but it didn't last very long, being replaced by "NEW at 92.3 FM".

So, you are both RIGHT. :p Live with it.

I'm near Lakeside HS in Dekalb Co. (LaVista Oak Grove Briarcliff) and GST comes in better on AM at night with my Panasonic clock radio. Can't even sniff the FM signal.

Throughout my travels in Cherokee county, north Cobb and Alpharetta, 92.3 is "un-listenable". Too much bleed or static. It's a shame they are spending so much airtime on 640 trying to drive people to a different signal that is usable by so few of their listeners.

If I fiddle with a telescoping antennae on a desk set, aiming about 150-165 degrees, get passable signal. Seems to be stronger at night.

You have to wonder how long Clear Channel will tolerate being in a top 10 marklet with multiple good signals and the best they can do is #12 12+. Sooner or later they'll have to throw some resources at Atlanta. This performance wouldn't have been tolerated in The Days of the Mays.

If they put WWVA-FM on a stronger signal, I can guarantee that they'd find success. Out of all things I've ever suggested or said in all areas of this board, that's the ONE thing I strongly believe and have faith in the most. It may not happen right away, but it can and will happen if done and given time. Forget about any of the past predictions and suggestions I've made that may or may not have eventually come into play and successfully unfolded down the road because that's not even important. Anyone can overanalyze things and see a possibility then predict that it could eventually happen based on logic. The ONLY thing I want to see happen and be proven right about is the long term success of the current sound of WWVA-FM on a stronger signal in Atl. Not because I want to say "I told you so." I don't even want to be remembered when it happens. I just want to see THE STATION ITSELF be successful as it is, plain and simple. It can be done.

Cox in general and WSB in particular have taken their share of lumps on this board, from just about everyone... Cox running articles in the AJC complaining about "hate radio" at WGST because they couldn't make progtalk work on WSB...

Don't forget Cox running articles about shootings and witnesses describing the scene to "750 WSB AND NOW 95.5 FM." ::)

It's up to full power today. I can finally hear it out here in Suwanee. It's a weak signal, but it is there for the first time. Try it again at your house or on your commute. It's not clear enough to preset or stop on a scan, but it's finally at .099 kW. I tested the signal from in town to out here over the past three days, but it wasn't at full power then. Dave FM seems to cause trouble in Norcross, where it covers 92.3.

I tested the stronger signal around north Gwinnett. This is a good signal now. Through most of Suwanee, it is strong. Some low areas it is weak and its weak around the front of my house, where my radios are. ;D On the portable MP3 radio, it was the same strength at Gwinnett Place Mall as the 92.1 (WRAF) translator. The signal is strong on Peachtree Industrial from Pleasant Hill to Sugar Hill, but fades just past 20 and becomes a turn up the volume to hear it over the static signal, with occasional strong signal bursts. if you live there, you could listen to it, but you need a good receiver and will have to move it around and move the antenna around. It was good at Gwinnett Center and I tested it in Forsyth County. It wasn't as good at 400 and 20, but seemed equal with 97.9/98.9 there. 92.3 was equally in and out around the parking lots on the portable radio. I did all of the testing on the portable MP3 radio.

I was able to pick it up near the MOG, getting better as I went towards the Sugarloaf area. Still a lot of spit, but mostly listenable...and better than having to deal with the red light interference on AM. I'll check out Duluth/Johns Creek tomorrow.

No dice in Duluth/Johns Creek, or Lawrenceville. Went back and forth from no reception at all to receiving it alongside 2 other signals.

Sugarloaf area is worse today. Have they turned it back down?
