92.5 Houston

My client asked me to ask everyone that if 92.5 was broadcasting 2000 watts as was previously alleged in this forum, how could a station 350 miles away overpower it? K223CW regularly experiences interference from everywhere, especially the LPFM in South Houston. Despite its weak signal, the translator has the advantage of over 1,100 feet of height.
I have so much to say but I'm not looking at closing down another thread.

I will say that from my own personal observations the LPFM in South Houston barely gets out 1 mile and the other one by the NE part of beltway 8 gets out about 3.5 miles before being obliterated by the translator.

Really? According to the public file, K223CW is licensed to broadcast from a HAAT of 307.9 meters. That's merely 1,010 feet, 2 inches to the every day American, so where does this "over 1,100 feet of height" come from? Did somebody water the building the translator sits on and it sprung up an additional 9 stories of new growth?

It’s easy to turn the power up to 2000 watts. Harder to increase the height

I won't participate in the accusations, but I'm genuinely curious as to how the alleged counsel for the licensee would make that egregious of a gaffe. Is K223CW actually sitting at over 335 meters HAAT, when it's only authorized for just under 308? That's quite a significant difference in our little world.

Assigned? Didn’t she already own it?
No, it's a Centro translator. Transferring it to the ex-wife, and why not? It can be put into tandem with K223CW and then there'll be two ESPN 92.5s without a primary feed. Sounds about right for Houston to me.

Oh I forgot about that. Wonder if it will continue to be ESPN.

I don't think any FM translators have ever been on Senior Road.
He meant the signal got that far, not that the site was out there.
