94.7 to flip to "Fresh 94.7" this Thursday

A station flipping from smooth jazz to another format despite pending sponsored concerts is nothing new. A few years ago in Philadelphia, the first time WJJZ flipped, the previously scheduled smooth jazz outdoors concerts at Penns Landing would go on as scheduled.
 
So the name 94.7 the Wave would simply be more like KBLX in the Bay Area. KBLX was once a smooth Jazz station in the 1980's and 1990's until it faded into classic R&B in the 2000's and KBLX still keeps the Quiet Storm Brand after 30 years.
