ABC moves from WPLG to WSVN in Miami

FOX has always been lenient toward WSVN. Keep in mind, at the time they affiliated with FOX, WSVN was the only affiliate that has switched from a Big 3 network. They were also one of the few non-O&O affiliates that had a legit news department, and not just running an hour of prime time news. So, WSVN was a pretty nice pickup for them.

They became even nicer when they overhauled the news operation and became the top station in town, hence becoming arguably FOX's strongest affiliate. FOX affiliates eventually started modeling themselves after WSVN, especially during the Big Switch in the mid-90s.
