The idiot-in-chief doesn’t grasp that despite professing to be an expert. But there are many posts where folks have not even grasped that the FCC does not license networks.

That is your opinion. As I see it, by the time he made that mischaracterization, it was clear that the individual had not been part of his (also exaggerated) "MAGA household" for years and had been radicalized (whatever that means today), So the need to make a remark that would be biting or humorous to his followers, he misstated the real fact.Which it did not do.
At worst, a comedian mischaracterized the categorization of a self-confessed murder suspect on a comedy talk show.

having carried a false news item.
However, if Charlamagne on The Breakfast Club cites a news subject for comment, it is a news item. It is not conjecture, it is not fantasy. It is a news item, even if brought up to use as a springboard or launching pad for a joke or commentary. It was not a news item. Jimmy Kimmel is not David Muir. His program is not a production of ABC News. It is what I said it was, which you characterized as my opinion:
But the comedian, by that time had the news data that showed that the confessed murderer was not has he portrayed him.A comedian mischaracterizing the categorization of a self-confessed murder suspect on a comedy talk show.
You can talk about current events and not be a news show. We would all be news journalists if that was the case. However, if Charlamagne on The Breakfast Club cites a news subject for comment, it is a news item. It is not conjecture, it is not fantasy. If you take Gutfeld! on Fox News, we'd likely all say it is a comedy show. Heck, even Sean Hannity presents it by saying "Stay with Fox News and Greg gutfeld will put a smile on your face". In every aspect, this is presented as a comedy show. But on the show, actual news items are presented either in a verbal summary or in a sound/video clip and then the panel comments and makes remarks about the news item. But still, the news item is news.
But the comedian, by that time had the news data that showed that the confessed murderer was not has he portrayed him.
The only viable excuse for miss-stating that news item would have to do with when the show is "filmed". We know it is not live, but I don't know when certain news "facts" came out vs. when the show was recorded. This is an interesting point, particularly if what we knew about the at-the-time suspect was less clear than, perhaps, a few hours later when the show ran.
In the case of a time discrepancy, then why did ABC no edit that bit in the monologue to reflect later discoveries?

We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.
I don't grasp what if any consequences ABC would face if it continued to air Kimmel as-is outside of temporary revenue. We're at 21 pages. Is there any way I can help you grasp this?
Did you miss what the FCC Chairman said on Benny Johnson’s podcast, a few hours before ABC suspended Kimmel’s show?I don't grasp what if any consequences ABC would face if it continued to air Kimmel as-is outside of temporary revenue.

Missed the Carr quote about public interest, and could be why they just didn't want to deal with an FCC investigation. Trump says that kind of thing on at least the weekly all the way back to his first term though...its sad to tune out the president as just spewing nonsense, but here we are.Did you miss everything the FCC Chairman said in the last 24 hours?

Did you miss what Trump said today?
How about the media holding the president to at least the same standard as late night comedians? You are forgetting the fact that the network reacted to a false statement about the Charlie Kirk shooting and suspended their host because he said something that was not correct.

You're right....he surrounds himself with yes men.I try every day not to take the Lord's name in vain.
Some days I settle for not giving him a middle initial.
Other days, I aim for "H." instead of "F."
Oh, well...there's always tomorrow.
Trump now has an FCC chairman who is willing to do what Trump wants instead of saying "Sir, you can't do that."
You're right....he surrounds himself with yes men.

The immediate consequence is the loss of many important affiliates. Then there is the prior and ongoing issues that the show was not profitable. And now, many advertisers will stay away were the show to return.I don't grasp what if any consequences ABC would face if it continued to air Kimmel as-is outside of temporary revenue.
