I won't say I'm ranting about the format. I won't go into detail about exactly when I was listening this morning or why, though I plan to start another thread that includes that.
The first song I heard this morning, once the morning show was over, was by Tony Bennett. I think. I don't even remember which one. But that was followed by "Only Time" by Enya.
That's the third time I've heard that weird new age garbage on this station. Gomez Addams used to do this with his model railroad.
Two songs later it was "From a Distance" by Bette Midler. And then "Suspicion" by Eddie Rabbitt. Too much AC! The second song I sort of like.
Things didn't improve much until the next hour.
After ABC News, Diana Krall's "The Look of Love". That was great, even if it was new. The musicians on these new recordings are so talented. I mention the vocalist only because that's how the song is identified, and she's good too, but you can always count on her to perform with good musicians.
After a "Senior Moment" feature, which included the day's Bingo number for shut-ins, the affiliate joined Nat King Cole's "A Blossom Fell" in progress. This happens sometimes. Part of the advice for seniors was to listen to soft or soothing music. I believe this station qualifies.
Yesterday I heard Ed Ames. I've been worried about him.
