hey stewie... the chin is high... I like working with the guys at Star... JB is a great guy. I do hope we get something going... you have to take any increase as a positive direction. I think we could grow Star into a winner... not #1 but a player in the market. One that could generate money for the cluster. I just hope we can keep moving forward and keep the faith... station numbers arn't built in a book... three to five yes. If we go thru the next three books and there is no improvement I'd say make some changes... My hopes are they will keep the music fresh, promote, and generate some programing on the station that we could turn into cash. The ball is really in their court, but I will help in any way I can.... again I'll take any increase as a positive sign.
I do believe a strong program manager should be in place to get all the stations on track.. now keep in mind I'm not in house so I don't really know what is on track in the building. They very well could be working on a game plan for the cluster. I hope they are. Never has there been a group of stations more ready for the picking. The Magic cluster is a new car waiting for a driver.... Nobody has asked me but .. if I were in charge I'd get a veteran sales manager and give him the rope to hire a seasoned sales staff (again I don't know what's happening in house I'm just saying what I'd do if I was walking in the door as "the man") and get a Program manager to reset each station. Start with the cash cow which should be WTVY (in a perfect world) and go from there. I'd think you'd have to fund promotions and promote for about two years before you'd really reap the fruit of a full turn around.
There are some really good people working at the stations and I'd like to add that they have treated me with much respect and I'm glad to be a part of the cluster.
