Tim this is so pointless. They tanked, period, and trying to blame jv and Elvis's one hour for it when their numbers actually went up is absurd. Starscream trying to spin how they went up in Philly and Boston, Boston it is known for a fact that they did not go anywhere but down. So much so that the PD of the competing station put out a press release about how his morning show beat O and A. I would post it here because it went to virtually the entire industry but it contains actual numbers and we're not allowed to post the actual numbers. the second it goes up the mods will take it down. Face it: The boys are not doing anything.
Again I did not blame JV & Elvis's show for O&A's drop. However, it is true that despite their increase their ratings are lower than O&A's, which means the 9-10 hour is lower rated than the 6-9 hours thereforethe 6-10 ratings are lower than what O&A's ratings are 6-9.
Only problem with that is that O & A were alot higher in the last book and JV and Elvis were lower then they were this book. JV and Elvis increase can only help the numbers and not hurt them in this book,
They don't impact the drop, but they still impact the actual numbers themselves.
I agree with you on that, but a 40% drop( O & A ) and a Dog House increase of 30%+ does not work no matter how you want to slice it.
Yes, but even with O&A's drop and JV & Elvis's increase, JV & elvis's #'s are still below O&A's. The numbers from 6-9 are still higher than the numbers from 9-10 so the 6-10 ratings are lower than 6-9, To put it another way if O&A were rated soley based on the times they are on the air, they would be higher than the 1.6 they had, overall and higher than the demos are sown to be. However, their drop would have been larger as well. It may have been a drop from a drop of .7 or .8 from something like a 2.6 to a 1.9 or 1.8 or something to that effect instead of a .6 drop from 2.2 to 1.6.
Are you for real....they are down and it is that simple. Let's no make this something that is is not. O & A have been around for sometime now and they should be showing better numbers. They lost 40% of the book and now you think that a show that has 1 hour of the show that increaseed 30+% is the problem, not going to happen...never ever. Your show tanks and you think the show that has a 30% incrrease is the reason....never going to happen
Re-read what I posted
I'm not blaming JV & Elvis for O&A going down. When did I say that?? Never.
What I said is the actual numbers when O&A are on the air, 1.6 12 + and so on are higher than they appear. Thats what I said. My point regarding JV & Elvis has NOTHING to do with O&A's drop, NOTHING. it has to do with the core numbers you see in the ratings book, being 21st and ranked 1.6. Those are the numbers that are slightly higher than they appear because JV & Elvis, despite their increase end O&A's decrease are still lower than O&A. This is something that happens every single book, because O&A are not on the entire morning rating period. In fact the impact as far as pure numbers goes was obviously higher last book, as the difference between O&A andsd JV & Elvis was larger than it was this time.
JV & Elvis did not have an impact in O&A's drop, nor did they have an impact in the amount O&S dropped (if anything I will admit they may have cushioned it a tad). However, because of the 9-10 hour which is lower rated than the 6-9 hours, the ratings for O&A morning drive was slightly lower than it would have been if just the time O&A on the air were counted.
For example.. lets just say this (which is possible based off the info we know about the ratings)
Summer 06
6-7 7-8 8-9 9-10
2.6 2.8 2.7 .7
Morning drive average 2.2, average with O&A on the air 2.7
Fall 06
6-7 7-8 8-9 9-10
1.8 2.0 1.9 .9
Morning drive average 1.6, average with O&A on the air 1.9
Shows a sharp decrease in O&A's ratings as well as a about a 30% increase for JV & Elvis (29% for the 9-10 ). the drop is still there, and the drop is obviously because of O&A and not JV & Elvis, however the actual core numbers in morning drive are lower than the numbers while O&A are actually on the air because the 9-10 hour is the lowest rated hour.
