Raj not being able to talk to women, except when drunk is old. C'mon there's dozens of medicines available for social anxiety, and he's a scientist. He should be over this.

But expecting Raj to not be able to talk to women is what makes this ongoing joke funny. Having the guy pop a Prozac doesn't really have the same effect...
I thought it was great having him date a deaf girl. She was so pretty and had such a nhice smile, and the jokes were really funny.

Amy Farrah Fowler has been the best thing to happen to a traditional multi camera sitcom in a long time. Its actually nice to see that this artform isn't dying- because single camera seemed to rule the roost, even if the laughs are of a different variety.
Amy has been a valuable addition to this show. But a few weeks ago she smiled too much. She's better if she doesn't smile.

I agree, her character's smile is off-putting. She should be relatable, but not happy in a traditional sense, as it seems out of character.

It's not really a joke, it started out as a reason to explain why a good looking guy, with a family who has money and who is very smart, can't get a date. There's no believable reason for Raj not to be able to get a date, except for the fact he can't talk to woman. Fine, but the joke can't be told season after season. It's like I have Newhart on tape. It's horrible to hear, Larry introducing himself as "I'm Larry, this is my brother Daryl , this is my other brother Daryl." Funny once or twice, painful after that, why is Larry introducing himself for six years?

And that's what I mean about lazy writing, the writers need to drop that and find another reason why Raj can't get a date. And at any rate, if they want to keep the muteness, they at least need to make him slowly getting over it. Maybe have him be able to talk to Penny, then Amy, then Bernadette, etc.

And I realize you can be too picky. Like most sitcoms the needs of the plot are put ahead of any writing consistency. Sheldon's idiosyncrasies, come and go depending on the needs of the script. He'll act horrified of something one week, it doesn't bother him the next, then he's back to being bothered. The Internet makes it all to obvious to spot these. But on the flip side, there's no reason for writers not to take five minutes to google something to make sure it's done correctly

It's a character quirk, and a pretty definitive one. Why would you change it?

That's not a joke, that's a catch phrase. It's supposed to be repeated and associated with that character. They've proven pretty good for creating familiarity--and in many cases, selling T-shirts.

What?! Say that again.

Maybe for you. I found it funny every time.

Larry died in an episode of "Mike and Molly". He was dating Mike's mother and while they were "doing it" ... Okay, he never actually got that far. They were in bed and she dragged him downstairs so no one would know the truth.
