Arrogance and Greed

I've already brought it up on another thread, but it's worth asking agin: Did Steve Dahl perhaps block 'CKG going Jack because he didn't want to move to the Score, which is the only place Infinity could've put him?

They aren't that much older than anyone else at the station now. After all, their two personalities most identified with the aged, Wally Phillips and Roy Leonard, are long gone now.

The problem 'GN has is trying to shake off the baggage that Dahl and Brandmeier hit them with for years and years as the Old Folks' Home station. The air staff is definitely younger-thinking now than in the past and they got rid of the most onerous trappings of Phillips' "people-helping-people" philosophy, like the "What's the weather in Buffalo?" and "How do you get to Soldier Field?" callers, but the image is not going to go away immediately. It could help them if they got Kevin Matthews--even though he did his share of mocking at 'GN at other stations and Mancow will still call him a senile old fart, it could be a greater statement that things have changed at 720 than anything else.

Sure they can David, but NOT at the agency level! They need to take that message and the benefits the audience brings straight to the client. And, if they've properly done their homework, they'll be able to address the objectives of the client at the same time. The 55+ audience today is not the same kind of 55+ audience of the past.
