Gruntled isn't a word! Yeah, the only reason I brought that up is because you made me think there for a minute, I couldn't spell. Which would be very possible! Anyway, that being said, you're mostly right. People give each other a lot of (word rhyming with hit) on these boards; exactly why I care AT ALL if I'm spelling something wrong or not, don't want to leave that door open. Although I didn't totally agree with your example of the big boys making decisions on money, I agree with the statement in whole 100%. I will admit I was so worked up thinking about the simple AGE of these people who are being hired, I missed the point you were making about them working for less, which is a great point. Life's not fair though, business isn't fair, radio isn't fair. We chose this job so we live with it. People are rarely paid fairly based on their talents, but there's so many factors it's hardly worth getting into. All I know is there are "veterans" out there not worth a (hit) who are getting paid great, young people out there who get hired at 16 years old and are allowed on the air with no education or experience, older people who are stuck in the same place for so long, it's impossible for a new hire to be anything other than a board operator, and my favorite pet peeve, announcers who don't know any music other than hip-hop who are working on country stations and vice versa. I could go on and on and on, so in a general sense, I agree with you.
