B92 flips the switch to 92.5 THE BOX "IS HIP HOP"

They just interrupted Jackson Blue's Party Playhouse for a 15 minutes mixshow by DJ Vince D of Raw Dawg Entertainmet.

Hmmm, testing the waters? I remember the days of Raw Dawg Ent running Charleston back in the days. It's 10pm and they're mixing again.

It sounds like 92.5 is going to blow Z93 out of the water!

That is rather odd for them to keep announcing it on B92.5. Why not just kill B and stunt today until they are ready to launch the new 92.5?

6am Monday is supposed to be the official first day! Music and mixshows all weekend!!!

Are they going to do something like commerical free music all weekend long or a 10,000 songs in a row to get things started? Also I wonder what the people at z 93 are cooking up as I am sure they know already.

Looked at yes.com and no change. Stunt...?

Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus are barely hip hop. I see Ke$ha and Britney Spears as well as Black Eyed Peas, after 4PM.

"Bye Bye Today at 4"....that sounds a little fishy to me.

925thebox.com isn't a website for me, just goes to the B92 page.

It appears as if right now their stunting by playing a bunch of random CHR hits of the past couple of years, mainly 2009. Their not letting the full songs play however, just 1-2 minute clips of each song it seems. Apparently the Box will hit at 5pm.

I think it was very classy to announce the switch. Alot of radio stations nowadays will just drop the entire staff, flip the switch without any notice at all and will not allow the jocks to say goodbye to their fans and listeners and people will just be clueless ???. That and there are some potential crossovers that will listen to the new station, hype it up. Very classy Apex! :D :D :D The new format starts at the top of the hour. I'll be listening and recording.

This has been in the works for alteast a year im told. Im sure Apex wouldn't spend money on Rickey Smiley just to stunt and keep B around. The switch is at 5pm. The 4pm hour is just B92' final wrap up mix.

Yeah that was a great idea, but B92 only had Sean Mack. Besides, he's staying on with 92.5 THE BOX. They'll still have some of the same listeners since B92 played more Rhythmic than the average Pop station.

Oh, I see. I only have yes.com to go by because their stream doesn't work for me.

I still think a Hip Hop station would work in Greenville...but that's another story...one's needed up here much more than Charleston. The only Urban station of any sort is 107.3 (I don't count 98.1)...

Yeah, he won't last very long on urban side though, just my opinion. 7.5 minutes til the switch!

Glad u recording it Urb cause I don't know what da hell going on wid my pc. Im listening live through the stream though. Wonder if the first song will be a hip-hop song from a local artist.
