Barbecue at Pratt's house?

Didn't we try this a year ago at Ted's Hot Dogs in Mesa? :D

Give credit where credit is due.....Ted's Hot Dogs is in Tempe (McClintock & Southern if memory serves).

And Tempe is home to Arizona State University and the Gateway to Maricopa! (local joke)

Tempe, yes, of course! It all blends together from 2200 miles to the east...but at least now I know why oldiesfan and KLL were the only ones who joined us for lunch that day ;)

If I could find a cheap fare on Southwest, it would almost be worth the trip just to meet more of you, see Casa Pratt, meet Dave and perhaps even try to help landtuna solve his DTV woes...

And Legend City, briefly before he had to get back to work.

I could have easily not attended like 99% of the people here! I drove from one corner of the city to the opposite corner for this. Heck, I'm never at the ASU Main campus either. Was very nice meeting you, Scott, and it would be great to see you at the barbecue. Unlike your noon-time on a weekday, I have a feeling this Pratt barbecue will be in the evening, so more can and will attend as they wish.

I will be moving to Phoenix shortly and would be honored to attend with my best friend on the planet to meet you, Dave. I've heard you a lot and have followed your career as well. Coming in from California and was in Phoenix last week with an incredible look and tour of your great city in the Valley of the Sun with Radio Bubbleheads VP / KOOL Listener Lauren.

Awww.

I'm just a "Bubblehead" of "The Company," who almost gets her arm sliced in a Sky Harbor elevator with a voice in the elevator that is sadly not "Angel's" like in North Scottsdale.

And then I think of syndication in the middle of lunches!

Are you sure want to go with me? ;) :)

Hey you can't blame a guy for trying! Obviously, many of the consistent posters on this board are afraid to come out from behind the bushes and stand behind their comments. In all honesty, that is why these types of boards are so attractive to them. They are the same ones who only date "online" from the dark little corner of their homes while feverishly pounding on their keyboards. They are also the ones giving sophomoric and negative comments on just about every blog or online story you can imagine while giggling to themselves and coming up with more and more pathetic fake names. It is a sad existence, but in a forum that allows this junior high behavior, it is impossible for the rest of us to stop. Sorry man, I tried!! The barbecue would have been a riot, and in my opinion, many warm friendships would have been brokered. We just need to get out from behind our computer screens and actually shake hands.

No industry board will ever carry credibility unless real names are used by ALL posters. Otherwise, petty jealousies, personal agendas, personal vendettas, current work environments or station competition will never be filtered. You might as well lock the door on a public restroom and feel the power of writing your opinions on a bathroom wall. Unfortunately, this board means absolutely nothing.

After giving my best effort to make change, I am signing off forever. You have my word that I will never even click into this board again, and I highly suggest the same for all professionals who truly desire a meaningful exchange of thoughts and ideas.

In the meantime, for my friends and supporters on this board, please know that I am always available to you for a cup of coffee or via my email at [email protected] Stay in touch, stay healthy, and stay a believer in the industry we all love!

Sure we can. You entice some of the "handled" posters (as is common on
all the R-I boards) to "out" themselves (no, not that kind of "out" ;)) with
the offer of a BBQ get-together--which was a great idea--then you yank
it away, take your toys, and go home.

So who wins? The Prattster, of course...oh and I guess Akbar! ;D

I had already added my personal email address to my profile prior to Dave's gracious offer of a bbq at his home. I heartily agree with Dave about anonymity, of course, I have that luxury--I don't currently work in the business.

I'm happy for him that he's a gazillionaire and a Cancer survivor, but his words aren't those of a winner.
When a guy gets that involved in a character assasination just because of a username issue, he's losin' it somewhere.

Very briefly I am sorry to say, I was doing an investigation that day, those suck.

so does this mean the BBQ is cancelled?

Looks that way. ::)

I've decided in lieu of a BBQ at Casa Pratt, I will grab some food from Whataburger and eat it in front of Casa Pratt. I'll bring hand puppets representing the outedposters on the board so I can socialize while I eat. ;D

I just can't decide if I should bring hand puppets for Akbar and Jeff. I mean, without a miniature Gremlin or media hut to go along with the puppets, what's the point?!?!?!? It wouldn't be the same!!

Try Rent-A-Wreck. They might have a yellow '76 Gremlin for $9.95 a day.

And they'll pay you the $9.95 just to keep if off their lot for a while. ;)

Dave, will INSIDETHENUMBERS be there? I will post my name if Dave admits that's him. Insidethenumbers has gone awol since Dave showed up. That's not my opinion- that is a fact.

Is the APD gonna tell us that he's Lauren?

Dave's got a great idea going. I wouldn't mind helping to plan a party to reunite ALL the old Phoenix Radio Friends. We all know, or know of each other, and we all have shared some great times in Phoenix radio. So many of the Phoenix radio legends are still in town, too. What a blast!

Entertainment from your favorite jocks, and maybe some vintage station memorabelia to auction. $25 bucks for charity gets you in. Fans welcome.

I would love to host it at my ranch, but since this is on the internet, I would think it wiser to hit up one of our contacts at a resort.

The Great Radio Reunion. I'm in!

Liz B. (Liz Boyle:)

PS: Dave, I hope you reconsider, and return to contributing to this board. So many of us enjoy reading your posts, and can relate to the passion behind them.

Dave,

Liz is right - there should be a way.

I belong to several boards but none consist of as many intelligent and articulate people as are here. I would love the chance to meet them in person. As a lifelong 'radio' person, although not actually in the business since my 1960 navy RM days, I have learned a lot and enjoyed this board and 'personalities' even more.

Dave we are there, can i bring my laptop and BORROW your SMB CD's? Yep This is Mike Rowley from Mesa. No I will not say anything on your wall over that the other place. :)
