Biz Radio gone again?

... both interviews were actually badly-edited forgeries---she had taken two existing interviews and grafted her own voice in there asking the questions!!

Yes the few times I forced myself to listen, I couldn't believe anyone would put that on the air...it should be illegal to falsely present yourself as interviewing someone like that...luckily it was quite obvious.

That Elisea Frishberg program is the kind of content that gives birth to SNL skits. It was so bad it was actually entertaining in a funny way.

A 50 year sentence handed down for a man convicted of a Ponzi scheme that has all the classic markings - just like what I've come to call the BizRadio scam. With the SEC close on Dan Frishberg's heals...read this to see the birth and death of a Ponzi scheme and let me know if it isn't similar to what's happened with BizRadio in Houston and Dallas.

OK...let me first state - this interview is long so get a diet Coke before you start. Now, if you want the skinny on BizRadio this is a must read. I did an interview with David Wallace - who we knee deep in this mess called BizRadio and I think if you're truly interested in seeing how this fraud unfolded and is rapidly unraveling you'll want to read this. Dan Frishberg will be (unless I'm badly mistaken) jailed for the scam he pulled...(along with others). Take a look and give me some feedback if you will.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I do wonder why Mr. Gallagher spends so much time writing about Biz Radio. It seems a bit over the top.

Bubbadad - in answer to your question as to why I spend so much time on BizRadio - two answers: (1) it is an interesting action (that will likely be called a fraud) that is in action - active - and unfolding as we speak. Kinda like the interest with Tiger Woods and his personal relationships, choices and return to golf - if there is interest there will be someone reporting it. (2) I am called, emailed, etc. by numbers of people who express appreciation for the uncovered or discovered facts that are starting to emerge - so as long as there is an interest (until the SEC or other governmental agencies bring it to a head) I'll report.

Guess my question is why would Salem allow Frishberg to continue to have a show when there is a preponderance of evidence that their has been investor issues that very well may cost him his license?

Thanks for reading and your question. Feel free to contact me directly if you wish to talk.

I still prefer "innocent until proven guilty". I've no problem with reporting facts, but it appears to be at least as much theory and opinion than fact. I know that some people will try to recover their investments at any cost and may be misunderstanding or misrepresenting their own positions. I'll be fine with punishment of the guilty once that is determined, I just prefer not to pronounce guilt before a formal investigation is complete and a legal proceeding is conducted.

dfwrunner...I, too, prefer "innocence till proven guilty" - however, guilt often in these cases surfaces long before the formal process finds one guilty.

Here are some facts:

1. The SEC stripped Al Kaleta of his license due to his inappropriate investment activities;
2. Al Kaleta violated the terms of the SEC agreement;
3. Both Al Kaleta and Daniel Frishberg are subject on an SEC investigation
4. Other branches of the government (that have criminal authority) are investigating Dan Frishberg and other;
5. Rarely do those branches investigate without the conclusion of either a civil or criminal conviction.

I report on what is presented and provide commentary on what it seems to mean. In this case, unfortunately, I stand behind my informed prediction that Dan Frishberg will be convicted and potentially spend time in prison. That said, I would like to say that he's innocent, but the evidence thus far suggests otherwise. But that is just an opinion.

For those that are following this...more has come to light today that will be reported on soon. Stay tuned.

The evidence that you've presented thus far suggests at least as much possible bungling and incompetance as willful intent to defraud.

Chuck, you mentioned the Online Trading Academy several times on your last blog. Are we talking about Vince Rowe's group? If so, is Vince implicated in any of this? I remember right before I left BizRadio in Dallas, Frishberg was talking of establishing some glorious digs in Downtown Fort Worth, including a building with the BizRadio studios, a large seminar/meeting room, a restaurant or coffee bar, and this "complex" would also house a stock trading school. So did Vince and Daniel join forces on that, or did Vince sell out to Dan, or is there even a connection? Vince is a friend and I'd sure hate to see him caught up in this.

But it brings to mind a hilarious story that happened about 3 years ago...Daniel and Vince had a heated falling-out (Dan wanting something for nothing from Vince, IIRC) and Vince ended his association with BizRadio. But Vince got even: Dan was only leasing 6AM-6PM from MRBI at 1360 here in Dallas, and MRBI had no lessee for the 6P-6A hours at the time...so Vince rented just the 6PM-7PM weekday hour directly from MRBI (which, coincidentally, came immediately after Frishberg's show) and Vince spent the entire hour each day berating Daniel and invalidating every point Dan made on his own show the hour before! Needless to say, Frishberg caved soon thereafter, and worked out a deal for Vince. (And, on top of that, BizRadio never turned off the streaming--it always ran 24/7--so Vince's daily anti-Dan tirades were actually broadcast each day over the BizRadio stream!!!) :D

Mike...to my knowledge Vince is not implicated in Frishberg's debacle. Interesting story thought...must say I did get a chuckle.
