So? The only time it a specific DJ matters to a station is if there are more than one in town with the same music format. If a station has a monopoly on a given music format, it doesn't much matter what DJ is on the air. It's the music that attracts the listeners, not the DJ. DJ's only matter as a tie-breaker if two or more stations are playing the same music.

Initially I thought the Bob Bailey part was just piling on. How can a station already paying Rhubarb through 2009 afford not ony Randy and Spiff but also Bob Bailey but Good times I must admit you are partially correct. I checked my sources and they confirmed the following:

My understanding is this that Randy will in fact join Spiff starting May 1 2009, until then Bob Bailey will be filling in. Friday sports commentary will come from Beau Bock, Scott Woodside traffic, the Wednesday reader from Ludlow Porch, the Monday rant from David Paul, Steve Mitchel on bass guitar and Gary McKee on lead. To prevent it becoming a sausage party they are actively recruiting Kate McCarthy who is working without a contract. I believe she interned when Randy & Spiff were on Fox. Ever since her latest blow out with Jordan Graye she is hell-bent on leaving.

I believe I got this right from my sources but I must admit I have been hoped on gin and quaaludes all day.

Ok, I don't know who you are, or who your sources are, BUT, I spoke to Bob Bailey PERSONALLY. He told me he had NO CONTACT with 106.7. He further stated that he wanted to return to Atlanta radio, but not specifically in the Oldies format. So you might want to put a tracer on your sources. They are incorrect.

As far as formats go John, I can hardly see Bob on V 103 or many other Atlanta stations. In the past 10 years, Bob has worked at WFOX Fox97-Oldies, WLKQ-Oldies Lake 102 and Oldies Sunny 100. Bob knows his Oldies. And yes, I keep hearing from people at the station that he may be on the air soon there. Maybe, he just doesn`t want to announce it yet.

As far as formats go John, I can hardly see Bob on V 103 or many other Atlanta stations. In the past 10 years, Bob has worked at WFOX Fox97-Oldies, WLKQ-Oldies Lake 102 and Oldies Sunny 100. Bob knows his Oldies. And yes, I keep hearing from people at the station that he may be on the air soon there. Maybe, he just doesn`t want to announce it yet.

Maybe they should AT LEAST talk to him BEFORE they say he's going to work there. That's ALL I'm saying. I just find it annoying that these rumours persist, when I talk with Bob all the TIME and he sez NOTHING is going on in that direction. I'm not touchy on the subject, heck I'm one of his biggest supporters! I agree, Bob Bailey is the BEST when it comes to oldies, classic rock, or what ever format he chooses. He has three things radio needs right now, great pipes, brilliant mind, and a willingness to work. I personally think he could take Dave FM and make it work. He could bring back "Traffic Jamming and Jokes". My radio would NEVER CHANGE!

I have been in atlanta 15 years and Traffic Jams and jokes is still my favorite afternoon drive show in Atlata. While I like Kaedy Kiely also I never understood replacing Bob with her.

Also don't listen to Lame Times and Stale Oldies. Look at all of his posts he just non-stop makes stuff up.

The other day in two separeate posts mentions the Regular Guys were fired about 6 times in this market. Randy is re-joining Spiff because apparently Randy does not have a 6 month non-compete like everyone else. Also apparently Citadel is tampering with an employee under contract to Clear Channel. He knows better than bob Bailey that Bob is returning to Oldies. He even applier that all three will be working on the same show. Reminder that Citadel again announced $20 million more in cutbacks this week but when it comes to True Oldies in Atlaa they will continue to pump more money into it.

And the best one of them all "Connie Francis was the top hit maker in the 1960`s on the Rock and Roll Charts. " Apparently he never heard of the Beatles and the 10 other acts of the 60's that had more hits than her.

Fair is far. He did later 'fess up to making a simple error. He more or less admitted that he meant to type that she was the #1 top solo female artist hitmaker of the '60's. When narrowed down with that disclaimer that he forget to type the first time, his assertion was correct.

I mean, the guy has made enough really blatant, over-the-top blunders. There's no need to pick on one of his lesser mistakes.

Hey, don't pic on Goodtimesandgreatoldies! He obviously is a fan of Oldies. He gets JOY from radio. That is something that is MISSING from radio right now. In fact, Bob Bailey told me the other day, "Why did you tell them there is no Santa Claus?" In other words, why did I burst the bubble about him working at 106.7? I feel bad, I should have let GTAGO have the fantasy a few more days!

I thought JOY (WJYF 104.1) flipped to Y-104 (the Y-106 simulcaster) back in the 80s...or are you talking about JOY AM 1460, which flipped to WXEM (La Favorita) in the early 90s...
