Hey, maybe that's what these boards are all about, and I don't appreciate their true nature.
That is an accurate statement. There are different venues for different things. If you want just insider information and facts, there are many, many blogs out there for just that content. Forums like this are for discussion of those facts. In other words, for presenting opinions based on the facts and interpretations of what the facts actually mean.
Anyone can cut and paste Arbitron numbers (except in here, where that's against the rules). The discussion comes with using one's experience, both from the industry and from life itself, to attempt to explain and understand why the results are what they are.
For example, a perpetual topic in some radio boards has been over whether its better to be live and local, or to carry a satellite feed, or to split the difference with remote-recorded voice tracking. One can repeat the facts about which option beat the other in one town or another, but what really matters are the observations on why one option might work over another and when one is preferable and when the other is preferable. And such discussions are mostly opinion.
