A few points here, if y'all don't mind; apologies if this is not news and/or is blatantly obvious to some of you.
Before 'BZ moved to Medford in Aug 2018, Kuhner had Dan Rea on one afternoon as a caller. Kuhner made a big deal out of the fact that he and Dan were going to be using the exact same studio for their respective shows. (I had the impression Dan might have been underwhelmed by this notion.) I suspect that's how things hummed along until the pandemic, when air talent at 'BZ and 'RKO started working from home.
I just wish some of the AoIP links from the homes of the 'BZ traffic reporters, AccuWeather folks, Bloomberg reporters, and news anchors had better audio quality. The frequency response and dynamic range are now so restricted the audio no longer sounds "professional" but downright cheap. (Yeah, I know it's only "voice", but still...) I tuned in Dan one evening last week; it sounded as if he was broadcasting over his cell phone. We frequently hear on these boards that Howie Carr has been "phoning it in for a while", and dang, it's actually come to pass, if not for him specifically, then for lots of others!
The Financial Exchange, going back at least eight years to 2013, has been originating from their Needham headquarters. Michael Graham used TFE's facilities, as did Howie immediately after his big break from Entercom in 2014.
