California on Fire Watch

In this other report Universal City was also mentioned as areas that have to watch for fire warning besides Warner Brothers.

While there were no formal evacuation orders, people living closest to the fire and being affected by the smoke were directly contacted and encouraged to stay inside, authorities said.

The blaze was burning between a triangle of Universal City, Warner Bros. studios and the Hollywood sign.

"LAFD ground and air resources are on scene at the Barham Fire," tweeted Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. "Please be aware of emergency vehicles and firefighters operating in the area as LAFD fights this fire."

One firefighter was treated for injuries to an arm and leg, officials said. No injuries to civilians were reported.

are their shut downs even helping preventing these fires. i feel like PG&E may be cutting off power due to being unable to afford it, like they did in the early 2000s.



Apparently not given that PG&E is currently under investigation for failing to remove "fuel" as in dead trees and dry grass near their power lines for some of the fires that have taken place during the shut downs.

Update SoCal Edison has declared a similar Shutdown for fire reasons.

The shut-offs come as several fires erupted in Southern California this week.

This is the second round of planned proactive outages for SoCal Edison. Earlier this month, the utility cut power to roughly 30,000 homes because of dangerous weather.
