I know nostalgia (standards) formats (generally) aren't particularly profitable. Citadel's "Timeless" is calling it quits in February. 1340 WLVL was once one of their afilliates. It's also too bad that WECK 1230 switched from Music of Your Life... and then was yanked from Westwood One's "America's Best Music" (it might've been the other way around) which left the whole area void of Sinatra, Manilow, Carpenters, Bennett, etc.... WBTA 1490 was also (sort of) on that bandwagon, but in the last few years has taken more of an AC direction. I'm also recalling a few years ago that 1410 in Dunkirk had a standards format, before flipping to country I believe. Then of course there was Legends on 990 Rochester. They were almost like a 740 clone, with a mixed-bag of pop/standards.
I would think...somehow, there'd still be a market (in western New York) for the format... that somehow it could be viable.
