CBS owned CW affiliates to drop CW affiliation and go independent

Unless the Murdochs make a bid so they can have it's own duopoly like in NYC, LA, Chicago, Phoenix, SF, Orlando, DC, DFW, and Houston. Paramount should've sell their former CWs that are not part of a duopoly with their CBS counteparts.
The thing is the ones that were part of a duo with CBS were in major cities anyway so Paramount really didn't lose anything

In fact, they GAINED QUITE A BIT as by dropping The CW, they not only have more time for more news from the mother station but those stations serve as a home for CBS/Paramount's HUGE syndication library

The whole point of Paramount disaffiliating with CW is so they could turn them into independent stations and have the flexibility to program themselves and make money on local commercials.

they dont have news anymore in seattle

1). Fox could always sign an AFFILIATION AGREEMENT with WADL to make it the new home of MyNetwork TV with the added incentive of news produced by WJBK 2

2). Adell is SNOOZIN' on the job & now he's in danger of LOOZIN' because he acted like A PETUALANT TODDLER by insisting that Nexstar PAY WADL in exchange for an affiliation, Upon Nexstar's refusal, HE DROPPED THE NETWORK !! What don't you understand about this??

Okay, until WADL gets bought out by Fox, then I'll admit to say you were right and I will apologize. Until then, I will still stand by my word that I believe Fox is not going to buy WADL.

(meanwhile other family owned tv stations sold to big corporate giants)

And in the latest chapter in this laughable farce, Kevin Adell got the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the NAACP to lobby to the FCC to have the Mission deal approved. Probably after Adell realized he threw $75M out the window in his hissy fit last month and is now in panic mode.
It'll change nothing; it's obvious that this FCC will just sit on the deal until the cutoff date. Nexstar already found a home for the CW and they don't need the station, and Adell's reprehensible conduct made the station radioactive to anyone who would have wanted it (this does not include Fox, which would never have bought the station, end of story).

Where & when did I say Fox was going to buy WADL??

Am I missing something??

I only brought up the idea that WADL might be more inclined to affiliate with MyNetwork TV (Totally different than being owned by Fox)

If I recall correctly, the last time KSTW 11 had news was when IT was with CBS (BTW - It's shocking to see that CBS doesn't have KIRO 7 producing news for it as that would seem to be the obvious (Not to mention no brainer thing to do. But alas, none of us are in charge of making those decisions)

Consider the Fox NFL NFC deal 30 years ago that triggered many affiliation switches

KIRO is owned by a private equity vulture, so that's likely to never happen.

Update on the WADL sale. The WADL sale is unlikely to be approved by the FCC and probably dead according to Kevin Adell. However, if the sale is not approved, Adell plans to enter into the same kind of "shared services agreement" that Nexstar has with KAZT in Phoenix, in which Adell will continue to own the station and Nexstar will manage it.

Then why did Adell drop The CW if he Nexstar do a shared service agreement if the deal dies. Which doesn't surprise me what going to happen since the clueless FCC isn't going to approve any mergers is shared service agreements so they don't have to go through and deal with them. What happen in 91 in LIN had a shared service agreement with what is now WOTV channel 41 everyone was surprised by that wasn't until 2002 when LIN outright bought WOTV. Rumors were that WZZM was going to buy channel 41 would've became more a repeater for WZZM kicking themselves for not making that deal in 91.

Tegna can make a duopoly at some point either WLLA or WTLJ and they can pick up MNTV or a simulcast with WZZM, not surprisingly that the ION station ended up to INYO than make a duopoly with WXMI. West MI has 9 stations (not counting a semi-satellite of WGVU).

Potential outcomes for the affected markets (I'm not good in predictions tho but probably):

KLWB might be the right outcome for Acadiana region and probably if Hearst, Gray, Tegna, or Sinclair might enter the market.

Tegna's KTTU or Gray purchases the Spanish stations of either Telemundo or Univision. KWBA might be either carrying ION or follow the same format of KASW despite the Coyotes moving to SLC.

In SLO/Santa Barbara/Santa Maria, either the Univision or the Telemundo station and as a smaller market either Nexstar, Hearst, Byron Allen, Tegna, Gray, or Sinclair enter there. Ion might mostly replace CW on channel 6.2.

In South Texas; the Univision affliate might be the target for Nexstar, Gray, Hearst, or Byron Allen. Although Scripps has an LMA for KZTV as part of KRIS, Ion might be affliated on both the low-powered KDF and channel 6.2.

WSKY 4 might be the target, Inyo owned Ion station (in case Ion moves to WGNT), or Sinclair's WTVZ. If Nexstar drops Fox on WVBT for CW; either WSKY 4, Ion Norfolk, or WTVZ might be for the FOX hunt.

Despite the battles with WADL, the probable outcome will be Hearst, Gray. Sinclair, or Tegna might enter Detroit to buy WADL. I could throw in Graham to make a duopoly with WDIV. Inyo owned Ion Detroit might be the second choice even if Scripps is yet to take most of the regional sports rights from Bally/Sinclair for WMYD.

Miami might be the toughest especially I don't count Paramount's WBFS. But Scripps and Paramount might be looking at selling their secondary stations in duopoly espectively with both Ion & CBS owned and operated stations. Tegna, Gray, Sinclair, or Hearst might be looking into Miami (and I could throw in WPLG if they make a duopoly).
