They still count...for now. Unless and until Radio One buys it from Davis to take it dark so they can up 102.5's power.frdeaconjosephz said:What about WLKQ? Arent they still around?

Three possibilities:
#1.
CC is having trouble selling El Patron because CC is "pushing numbers" instead of "beating the streets".
#2.
Maybe Georgia's Illegal alien law (kinda like Arizonia's) is working.
#3
The local "depression" (last time I looked Atlanta's unemployment was worst the Detroit's!) has accomplished what #2 could not.
Which implies 96.1. I'm more expecting a return of the "WGST Atlanta/Canton" ID (not legal I know, should have been WGST Atlanta/WGST-FM Canton, but that's how they did it before), or "WGST Atlanta/Bowdon".secondchoice said:I would not be surprised soon we will hear WGST AM FM Atlanta legal ID's.

Rumor: Strong FM Signal Coming for WGST, Atlanta. The Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Rodney Ho is reporting that Clear Channel may be moving toward a new FM simulcast situation for news/talk WGST, Atlanta. The station is currently simulcasting on a translator at 92.3 but the signal does not penetrate the northern suburbs of Atlanta. Ho reports Clear Channel is quietly cutting the staffing at Regional Mexican “El Patron” – WBZY-FM at 105.3 – possibly with plans to move the station to a different signal and simulcast WGST on the 105.3 frequency. Ho notes that WGST had an FM simulcast at 105.7 in the 1990s but that ended in 1999.

I drove to Chattanooga yesterday from Gwinnett and 92.3 really wasn't listenable until I hit PIB on the Perimeter. From I-285@GA 400 to the Marietta loop it was clear, but it went downhill quickly and was unlistenable again around the I-575 split.jabba17 said:scott5 said:Talkers online:

Side note: 92.3 was unlistenable all the way down I-85 to Spaghetti Junction today. You just lost about a third of the metro during drivetime.

We're really looking at a station that isn't very viable OTP...not much different than 640 at night.
Yep...clear as a bell from Lake Allatoona northwards...maybe even around Chastain Road.wpb1999 said:jabba17 said:I drove to Chattanooga yesterday from Gwinnett and 92.3 really wasn't listenable until I hit PIB on the Perimeter. You heard WDEF "Sunny 92.3", didn't you?
