Interesting conspiracy theory but Regent didn't hire Chuck & Kelly with plans to fire them. It hired them on the belief that a significant percentage of their listeners would follow them across the street to the new signal and provide a nice morning drive cume injection for Buzz 105.7. Unfortunately for Regent, they weren't able to get control of the 105.7 signal in Sept '06 as planned and had to wait until Jan '07. Rather than investing in keeping Chuck & Kelly top-of-mind and creating curiosity about where they were going to turn up, management made the mistake of waiting until the new station launched. Consequently, non-radio geek C&K listeners were clueless about what happened to the team, shrugged their shoulders and learned to accept the new B95 morning team. So, rather than launching in January '07 with a Chuck & Kelly morning drive fan base
which had migrated with them over from B95, they were stuck with starting over from scratch.
