Now, I probably shouldn't be pointing out typos since I make plenty of them myself, but yours makes you sound like an Aussie Paul Harvey.  "Good Duy!"

Trying to remember some of the names on WNCI around 1970. E Karl is one...I used to hear them in Cincinnati...they were so impressed that they mailed me their Hot Half Hundred survey sheets for quite a while. I still have all of 'em...

WNCI was an interesting station back then. They played the top 50 with something of an AOR presentation. Everything from Mountain to Donny Osmond. Sean McKay was on WTUE around 1972...not sure if that was before or after his WNCI tenure. But he sounded great on the Rock Of Dayton...

It may have been "interesting," but when they switched from that approach to a far tighter one in 1975, NCI's ratings quickly shot through the roof, with reigning powerhouse WCOL-AM plunging and never recovering.

I know I'm going to come up with the dudes name as soon as I post - but who did 70's Saturday Night on WNCI in the early 90's? I liked that show and although I didn't know that guy - he seemed like an old school

I may have the name wrong, but the name Dean Masters rings a bell? I actually talked to the guy when I won tickets to No Doubt (yes I won during the 70s show). He actually made music from the 70s (and I was only a teenager at the time) sound cool!

Heather's probably right, but if not could it have been Dave Sharp (Sharpe?), who was normally the overnight guy? He was great.

Maybe I've lost my mind with old age but I recall WNCI doing "dance" or top 40 dance mixes on Saturday nights in the late to early 90's..I couldn't wait to listen to it on the weekends?

I thought the jocks were out at clubs (remotes)..while this was going on but maybe I'm totally off the mark.

Heather you're right on - it was Dean Masters! Wonder whatever happened to him? I think they moved to the dance mix stuff mid-late 90's and dumped the 70's stuff. Thanks!

Blake was recently named morning show host at "Martini" in Denver after serving a couple of years in West Palm Beach. It is a return to Denver for him where he spent several years, I believe, at KIMN.

Last I heard, Marty was involved in youth ministry at a church in southwest Columbus (Grove City, maybe). Good guy!

And I agree: the talent at HOT 105 & WTLT were of good quality! It was a great learning experience to be exposed to the business there.

Christian comedian? Sounds pretty lame to me. I bet he's about as funny as most of those "comedians" on that Bananas show on Ch. 51 ....... NOT! Talk about an oxymoron!

Of the ones I have met or called in this market, I have only met one that would not make this list. But I will leave the discussion on Daryl Parks until another day.

Met Dino Tripodis and Stacy McKay at a Sunny 95 Christmas Wish event at a K-Mart a few years. Very personable.

Had a very nice phone conversation with Mark Dantzer of Mix 97.1 one day. Was calling about a potential traffic problem and we ended up talking about radio and music. He liked what I had to say and asked me to call him back sometime.

Kate Burdette and Matt Erhard get kudos for me for their involvement with local LGBT benefits. Angie Gear is also very friendly.

Met Steve Cherry at the Ohio State Farm. Very professional. Wish him the best in Chicago.

John Layne--was fun to listen to during the afternoon. Also very personable when I called him one time.

Ron Stokes and I have been friends for more than a decade. Very dedicated to his work, his church and his family.

John Remy attends my church. Very genuine. Now with SWACO and does not miss the radio news business one bit.

Sherry Fisher--very professional. Wish her well as ND at WIBC in Indianapolis.

And how I miss Lisa Kick.

Finally, JT...over the top at times, but definitely displayed a big heart. Alan Kabel has since raised the bar.
