Confirmed today (2 flips) in Columbus

How about this for an idea...
Go back 75 years of only gold hits of every genre from every decade up until the 2000's. Who says no?
It's been done with the last 100 years of music, and the show only runs on 35+ stations:

And that's only an hour-long program. Applying such a concept as a full-time format would be unworkable.

Aside from turning in the license for WMNI and selling the tower land to a developer, there's nothing else that can make money besides running Fox Sports off the bird.

Truthfully if you look at Columbus, OH AM signals, I would not be surprised if the real estate for most of them would net more. 920 AM, 820 AM, 1580 AM, 1460 AM are all surrounded by development and I could see their sites all potential redevelopment opportunities for the right price. I would say even AM 610 but iHeart likely would not consider given WODC 93.3 also transmits from there and I assume WTVN still bills fairly well.

I think Columbus could handle 2 Regional Mexican stations or even maybe a Spanish Urban station. The Current signals used don't come close to what 102.5 was

Maybe but also problem is who would flip? You got very few operators that I can see who would consider Spanish. Given ownership in this town I don't know who would I do not see iHeart, Columbus Radio Group or NABCO doing it. Radio One already has Spanish with their partnership with La Mega.

So that pretty much leaves the LPFMs, someone possibility prying 95.9 or 98.9 out of Salem's hands or someone leasing/buying 92.9/1580/1550.

My idea is like a Jack FM on steroids. Make it upbeat and fun and it might work, or maybe not. Hell I don't know, I've run out of new format ideas. We could use another Classic Rock station IMO.

Very possibly. "Regional Mexican" is a "gringo" term that covers music that can be used for a half a dozen separate formats in Mexico itself.
or even maybe a Spanish Urban station.
That is a good way of describing the reggaetón and trap based format that has a fairly wide appeal all over Latin America.

Vertical Bridge owns the WTVN site. It's up to them if they want to sell the land around the towers or remove any of them.
Good to know - I didn't realize the WTVN/WODC site was owned by Vertical Bridge these days (but totally not surprised given the major media companies selling off properties over the years).

Was listening to the oldies format today on 92.9 and noticed dead after songs going into ad blocks. (Happened more than once in the 3pm hour). The "oldies" format was for sure something not found in many spots of the dial these days.
